Story
Meet Trixie & Trigger! 🐾 Trixie (9 years old, 8 lbs) and Trigger (12 years old, 10 lbs) are a sweet senior duo looking for a soft place to land after their elderly owner could no longer care for them. These little companions are dog-friendly, love being held, and are happiest when they’re close to their people. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, riding along on errands, or simply soaking up affection, Trixie and Trigger are ready to be your loyal sidekicks. Both are crate trained and have left the puppy shenanigans behind, making them easygoing companions who are ready to enjoy the simple pleasures of life: comfy beds, tasty treats, gentle walks, and plenty of cuddles. Story
Meet Pookie, an older adult (approx. 10 years old) male Maltese!  Pookie is too old to neuter and doesn't have many teeth but he is the sweetest boy! Pookie is currently in TN and is expected to arrive in CT on 6/13. We are accepting applications on him now!  Pookie is medically up to date, and is working on house and crate training. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2752501##

Story
Meet Winston, an adult (approx. 5 years old) neutered male Wire Terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs!  Winston is arrived in CT on 5/30. We are accepting applications on him now! He will be required to attend our adoption event in Dayville, CT on 6/14. His fosters said, "Winston is very sweet with people but is not comfortable with young children. He is working on being more comfortable with being on a leash." And "Winston is an absolute dream. He is my little shadow who follows me around the house and outside. He loves to cuddle and gaze at you with such love. He loves treats and fetch. And he has learned how to use the doggie door. He has a cute little snore when he sleeps." Winston is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. He is good with dogs and cats but we recommend children over 10 years old. Apply to meet this special pup today!
