Story
Arriving March 14 - Fostered in Hamilton areaApply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Nika is a fun little white dog with a big personality (and tongue). Nika is still getting used to all the TLC but is warming up to being a little white shadow following you around. Nika is starting to enjoy the behind the ear scratches that maybe she did not receive enough of in her previous life. She enjoys naps but also wakes up with youthful energy ready to be your buddy; she loves her blankie-pillow a lot, especially right out of the drier. She lets you know when she needs to go out to potty (little barks usually mean pee-pee, little grumbles mean #2) and has learned quickly how to go on brief walks on her little pink leash.Nika is a little 'derpy' angel. She has a been a pleasure to foster.Adoption fee: $550Name: NikaBreed: Mixed X Lhasa Apso Age: ~9 years Weight: ~13lbSex: Female, spayedMedical: Received dental and all remaining teeth were removed; mammary masses removed - biopsy benign. Grade 3 heart murmur - x-rays received; no medication suggested at this time. Loose body language, Neutral - will say hello nicelyWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? The dog has interacted with a young, energetic, very overly-friendly/pushy corgi and Nika was non-reactive. The corgi was the hyper bully, TBH, and Nika was moved into her kennel for her own peace, and the corgi moved outside to get her energy out.Do you suggest this dog has another dog in the home? She can be happy alone or with another chill dogGood with Cats: Yes, has lived with cat(s) successfully - fostered with a cat Crate training: Enters crate willingly, Settles quickly and quietlyHouse training: Almost perfectly house trained - about 90% thereResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Low-Medium Areas to work on: No notable issuesAny noted separation anxiety? None seenBarker: Low-average What would be the ideal home for this dog?A calm home overall would make her happy. She likes short walks, so doesn't need lots of running around room.

Story
This charming little fellow is an estimated 7–10-year-old Maltese who proves that great things truly come in small (three-legged!) packages. Arriving at the shelter as a stray and never claimed, he’s ready to write a new chapter — this time with a family of his own. Don’t let the “senior tripod” label fool you — missing his back right leg doesn’t slow him down one bit! He’s active, curious, and still enjoys his daily walks and mental enrichment. That said, he’s equally content to curl up beside you and perfect his couch potato skills. Once settled in, we suspect he may show a bit of a “bossy boots” streak — but he communicates clearly when he’s uncomfortable. He tolerates standard handling well. However, more intensive handling (such as medical procedures or dressing in clothing/harnesses) can cause him to grumble or growl. He’s not a fan of fussing during those moments, and he appreciates patient, respectful handling. Staff have had no trouble picking him up or walking him, and he’s been content being carried around the building for extended periods. At this time, a home without other dogs is strongly recommended. With very slow, proper introductions, he may be able to live with a calm, small, submissive dog — but he may also thrive best as the only dog in the home. He’s sweet, smart, expressive, and full of personality. While he can be sensitive during certain types of handling, he is affectionate, active, and eager to bond deeply with his people. Once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal little companion who loves both fun adventures and warm laps. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with character, resilience, and plenty of love to give — this tripod gentleman might just be your perfect match. We will be accepting applications until Friday, March 13th and those selected will be contacted the week of March 16th. Please complete an adoption application at the following link: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Ned has medical conditions that will require follow-up care at the adopter's vet at the adopter's expense. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

People say I have the kind of charm that makes them smile right away. I adore being close to humans leaning in, snuggling, and soaking up every bit of affection. If you pick me up in your arms, I’ll happily settle in and enjoy the comfort of your presence. I’m calm and gentle by nature. I don’t need constant activity to feel content quiet moments together are my favorite. Whether it’s resting nearby while you read or napping while you go about your day, I bring a soft, steady kind of joy to those around me.   My Social Life• With People: I’m very people-oriented and enjoy greeting both friends and new faces with warmth. I love being petted and am comfortable being held.• With Other Dogs: I prefer calm company. Energetic dogs can feel overwhelming, so I usually keep to myself when other pups are around.• With Cats: I once lived in a place where cats were present, so I know how to share space peacefully.   On My WalksWalks are an adventure for my nose! I like to take things at my own pace, stopping often to sniff and explore the world through scent. I’m not in a rush for me, every little pause is part of the joy.   Life at HomeI’m a wonderfully easy housemate. I rarely bark, I use both indoor pads and outdoor spaces for potty time. During meals, I appreciate having a little space if other dogs are nearby, but with people, I’m gentle and trusting.   My Ideal HomeI dream of a kindhearted family who values calm companionship and gentle affection. A quiet home where I can feel safe and loved would be perfect for me. I don’t ask for much just a warm heart, a cozy spot to rest, and someone to share my days with. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle little soul to bring warmth and comfort into your life, I may be just the one for you. I’m ready to start my new chapter and give all the love I have to my forever family.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Manbok’s YouTube Playlist ##2508813##
