Meet Charlie! This sweet little guy was recently transferred to us in hopes of finding him his new home! Charlie is a sweet boy who wants nothing more than to be the center of your attention. He will definitely tell you all about much he wants this attention when he`s not getting it though, and he can be pretty loud about it, so we will be requiring Charlie`s home has no shared walls. Charlie can also definitely be quite an anxious boy who gets a bit mischievous by himself, so adopters will need to continue to work with managing his anxiety and setting boundaries with him. While he loves getting attention and pets, he`s not fond of all types of handling, so we recommend any kids at home are 6 years or older. Charlie has gotten along and co existed with other dogs well in his foster home, but we`d still like to do a dog introduction if you have a dog already at home. Lastly, we want to keep Charlie looking and feeling his absolute best, so he will need regular grooming for his coat, as well as continued treatment for his allergies. If you have any questions about this sweet little fluffball, please ask our kennel staff and they`ll be happy to assist!

He has always been deeply loved and cherished, and now he deserves a home where he can continue receiving the affection he’s so used to.   This handsome boy is leash trained, gets along well with other dogs, and has a happy, easygoing personality that wins hearts wherever he goes. He’s bright-eyed, joyful, and always ready to share a wagging tail and a smile. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, he’s your guy! He absolutely loves being close to his person and believes bedtime is best spent snuggled up in bed with his human. FRANKLIN IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED!    Franklin is a precious purebred Maltese looking for a home to call his own! He currently lives with a foster family of 4 other dogs, and a cat and is so good with everyone (though he does love to chase the cat) content and happy to have nothing more than a spot on the bed and couch to snuggle. Franklin is 3-4 years old. He LOVES a stuffy to carry around and play with. He can be a roamer risk so a fully fenced in yard is absolutely required for his own safety. Being a Maltese, Franklin will also need consistent grooming every 6-7 weeks to keep his coat in good shape! He is crated trained and house trained. He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all dog vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Franklin up north to his new family. Senior dog lovers everywhere! We are hoping you have space in your home for an old man looking for a soft place to land. Cookie came from a Virginia animal shelter where he was picked up running loose on a couple of occasions. He was severely matted and looked like he was on his own for some time. Cookie is 11 years old. He is done with the shelter life and roaming the streets, looking for a family. We found out that all he wanted was to be next to someone all day, every day. He loves being held and loves sleeping in the bed right next to you. While Cookie is crate trained, he prefers to be out and about with his people. He’s a typical senior dog who sleeps all day and is very mellow. Cookie is housebroken, but he needs to kept on a routine. The couple accidents he’s had , he manages to make it on the pee pad. He gets along with both cats and dogs and has not reaction towards them. Cookie has recently been groomed by our vet, but he will need to be sedated when he is groomed again. He does well until you shave his face or paws. His future family must keep this in mind if planning to adopt. Check out this patriotic little guy!   Meet Baxter! If you're searching for a loving new family member, your search ends here. Baxter is a 12-pound, 2-3-year-old Malti Tzu (a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix), and he embodies all the best, sweetest traits of both breeds.  Ater a few days in his foster home, Baxter found his voice.  Yes he has that Maltese trait.  For this reason, Baxter is not suited to apartment life.   Baxter was found as a stray in Nashville after someone suspected he’d been hit by a car and brought him to the emergency vet. Thankfully, there were no broken bones>  He has now totally healed from a sore back leg. (Hih had X-rays when he was neutered.  Everything now looks good.) We wish Baxter could tell us what happened and how he ended up on his own—it’s hard to imagine any family not wanting such a sweet boy.   Baxter is both a people-lover and a dog’s dog! He loves to play and would thrive with a young, active canine companion in his forever home. He adores people and always wants to be by your side—be prepared to never be alone again! His leg never slowed him down; he still jumps on the furniture to be with his foster mom whenever steps are available.   This young gentleman walks well on a leash and is fully housebroken. He loves going on adventures and rides like a champ in the car—he even prefers the back seat, though he’s happy on a passenger’s lap, too!
