Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Meet Tinkerbell.  Tinkerbell was one of four pups rescued from a burning house.  Tragically her  people died in the fire -- wife was in a wheelchair and husband elderly.  Tinkerbell and her 3 siblings survived the fire.  Please help us find a new home for Tinkerbell and help her put this tragedy  behind her.  Tinkerbell is 12 years young and weighs 12 pounds  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. She is great with children and they seem to be her favorite people. She gets along with dogs and cats as well. Special Needs Senior for Adoption! Shadow is a 12 year old, mini poodle mix who weighs about 14 pounds. He has a long history of flunking out of families and is on the hunt for his furEVER home! Shadow is very reactive to cats and other dogs and is looking for a home where he will be your one and only. He is little but very active. He still enjoys long walks and may be most successful in a home with a fenced in yard. Shadow has bitten a couple people as he is can be testy and irritable. At other times, he's a little angel! Shadow needs a new parent who will provide him with routine grooming and who is also willing to invest in behavioral support if needed. If you have a big heart, lots of patience and the desire to change this little guy's life, we would love to tell you more about Shadow. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Shadow, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a foster-based, 501c3 nonprofit, rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. I acquired her April 11th, 2023 by owners who were eager to sell her. When I got her she was very friendly to everyone besides other dogs and cats, I also noticed she was scared of me touching her feet. I’m not sure if she was mistreated in the past or if she was just not used to it. I started taking her to groomers at first everything was fine but about a year ago they refused service. She will not let me trim her nails or groomer her all the way down to her feet. My goal is to find her a better owner with more experience, I’m not sure what to do anymore and I hate to see her go but I feel as it is best for her. Other than that she is a good dog who loves to cuddle, play, and go on walks.
