Story
Do'Lce - ID# 20314 - Kennel #834 - Arrived June 25th - American Pit Bull Terrier/Mastiff Mix - Tri Color - Male - 3 Years Old - 70 lbs - Will Be Neutered Prior to Adoption - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative
Do'Lce is a three-year-old tri color American Pit Bull Terrier/Mastiff mix with a broad, handsome face, warm brown eyes, and the kind of gentle, expressive look that tells you immediately there is a deeply feeling soul behind those eyes. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services on June 25th after his owners - the only people he has ever known in his entire three years of life - surrendered him due to separation anxiety, and he is visibly heartbroken. He seems so down, and it makes complete sense. He has lost everything familiar in one moment.
Do'Lce's separation anxiety tells you something important about who he is - he is a dog who loves deeply and bonds completely. That kind of devotion, channeled into the right home with the right person, is one of the most extraordinary things a dog can offer. Separation anxiety is manageable with patience, routine, and positive reinforcement training, and for a dog as sweet and willing as Do'Lce the investment is absolutely worth it. He already knows sit and is dog friendly and good with children. He pulls with some strength on leash - but with consistent work and the freedom of a real home routine, that will come together beautifully.
At three years old Do'Lce is right in his prime - a big, beautiful, loving boy who simply needs someone to understand him. He does not need to be fixed. He needs to be chosen, and given the stability and consistency that will allow him to finally feel secure. The person who gives him that will be rewarded with a loyalty and devotion that is truly humbling.
Do'Lce is sweet, he is gentle, and he is sitting in a kennel feeling the weight of losing his whole world. He deserves someone who will be his whole world right back. Come meet him in Kennel #834 - look into those warm brown eyes and tell yourself you can walk away. We dare you.
