Story
🐾 Meet Betty: Your Heart's New Furry Companion! 🐾 Hello there, kind soul! My name is Betty, and I have a story to share that I hope will touch your heart. Imagine a majestic Mastiff with striking black and white fur, weighing in at 104 pounds, and brimming with love. That's me – Betty. At 3 years old, I've seen a bit of life's ups and downs, but through it all, I've remained a beacon of love and hope. I found myself at the shelter on 03/13/2024, lost and alone, until the compassionate shelter staff took me in. Since then, I've been eagerly awaiting the chance to find a forever home – a place where I can share my boundless affection and playful spirit. Despite my size, I'm a gentle giant with a heart as big as my smile. Unfortunately, I am heartworm-positive at the moment, but that doesn't stop me from loving life to the fullest. With treatment, dogs who are heartworm positive usually go on to live long and happy lives. I am current on vaccines and neutered; I will be microchipped upon adoption. My days are filled with sweet moments of joy and playfulness. I'm a big, goofy girl who loves nothing more than to romp around, chase after toys, and cuddle up for some quality snuggle time. Need a loyal companion to sit by your side? Look no further – I've mastered the art of sitting on command, ready to be your faithful friend. So, what do you say? Are you ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend in need? Come visit me at cage 82, and let's see if we're meant to be together. My ID is 654244, but you can call me Betty – your future best friend and faithful companion. I'll be waiting with bated breath, hoping to share a lifetime of love and laughter with you. Let's make memories together – adopt me today! 🐶💖 Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Introducing Hooch, a gentle 1-and-a-half-year-old, 66 lb., black and brown Mastiff mix eagerly awaiting his second chance at a loving home. Hooch was found as a stray on March 19th, 2024, and since then, he's been yearning for a fresh start and a family to call his own. Despite his rough start in life, Hooch is a shining example of resilience and hope. He may not have had the best beginning, but he's ready to leave the past behind him and embrace a brighter future. Hooch is not just sweet; he's also obedient and well-behaved. He knows how to sit when asked and walks politely on a leash, making him a pleasure to spend time with. In his run, Hooch is quiet and calm, patiently waiting for the chance to show his new family just how wonderful he truly is. This special boy is up-to-date on vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. To ensure his continued health and happiness, he will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption, ready to start his new life with his forever family. If you're in search of a loyal and loving companion who will bring endless joy and companionship into your life, look no further than Hooch. Come meet this wonderful pup today in kennel #412 (ID#655361) and give him the fresh start he deserves. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Mollina is one of a kind. She's 67 lb , 3 years old and so beautiful. Currently, she lives in a foster's basement but she would really love a home where she could be around her people, cuddling in the evenings and sleeping in her crate at night. She is very smart and treat motivated. and knows an amazing number of commands. She shows no destructive behavior in the house. She like routines and would do best in a home that has structure, continues her training and gives her the time she deserves. She is highly treat motivated and very readable. When she is nervous, she chatters her teeth. She's shy with strangers but warms up quickly with treats. She doesn't like to share treats or toys with other dogs which is why she'd be best as an only pet for now. A knowledgeable adopter with another pet might be fine if they were willing to feed dogs separately and put toys away. Mollina loves her walks. The best way to have her meet new people or dogs from other households is on parallel walks. Mollina is an incredibly loving and loyal dog and she can't wait for a family that appreciates all she has to offer and understands her specific needs.  She's ready to move on up (from a basement into your home and heart.)   Learn more about her on her Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550516274924&mibextid=eQY6cl        Age: 3 years      Weight: 65 lb    Temperament: Good with older sturdy kids due to her size, tends to be leash reactive with dogs but gets along after slow intro   Training: Crate-trained, house training in progress and doing well.  Knows commands,  Sit, stay, come, heel, leave it, wait, place, head down, crate, go to sleep Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    For questions, please email:   ElizFindsHomes@gmail.com  &#226&#128&#139   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Meet Barklee No one knows how long I was on my own, but it was enough to lose over twenty percent of my body weight. After being in the shelter for weeks, barely gaining weight, time was not on my side. But thankfully, Hero was able to rescue me! I’m around 1 year old, so I’m still basically a puppy—a big puppy that had a lot of learning to do! But, my fosters will vouch for me that I’m a VERY quick learner. I picked up the basics pretty fast. I know how to sit and I’m potty trained. I will stand at the door when I need to “go,” plus, I know what “leave it” and “inside” mean. When my fosters need to leave the house for an extended time, I will happily rest in my crate as long as my favorite bone is there to keep me occupied. One thing I’m still working on is not getting too excited at feeding time or when my fosters come home. I just get so happy that I can’t contain myself. My fosters are certain that I’ll master the art of self control with time. But because I am such a big boy, this could be a lot for families with small children. With the right introduction and a little time, I will get along with other dogs. I really love to run and play with my fosters’ two dogs! Although I’m bigger than both of them, I know my place. One of them is definitely the boss when we play with toys or if we’re just playing outside. And, I’m okay with that! I also really love getting attention from my fosters! Whether it’s a back scratch or a hug, I just want to be loved. But sometimes I forget that I’m not the only dog and I bump the others out of the way. I’m working on that as well! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
