Story
Meet Winnie! Winnie is another one of our babies who was found just wandering around a rural area in South Georgia. Locals reported seeing Winnie waiting at the bus stop for children each day but still no one ever came looking for her Winnie is a strikingly beautiful brindle girl, about 6 yrs old. She's very chill and would probably thrive as the Queen of her own Castle, but she does get along well with other dogs too. A nice quiet place to sun bathe outside and a comfy sofa with a soft blanket is what this lovely lady wants more than anything else! Oh and did we mention Winnie is also cat friendly and LOVES children? She is pure perfection for sure! Interested in adding a bit of royalty to your family? Story
Spike is a handsome brindle sweetheart who enjoys life at a calm, steady pace. Hes medium-energy, potty-trained, and manageable on leash especially once he gets into his groove. This independent guy loves a good sniffaroo and will happily explore every corner before checking in for head scratches.
Spike prefers to get to know you before leaning into cuddles, but once he trusts you, hes gentle, wiggly, and takes treats with the softest mouth. In playgroups, hes polite and easygoing, more of an observer who may join in light play once he feels comfortable.
If youre looking for a mellow companion who enjoys quiet company, slow strolls, and thoughtful affection, Spike is ready to be your loyal, steady friend.

Story
Atlas - ID# 19680 - Kennel #825 - Arrived June 6th (Stray) - Mastiff Mix - Tan and Black - Male - 9 Months Old - 59 lbs - Estimated Adult Weight 70-85 lbs - Will Be Neutered Prior to Adoption - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative Atlas is a nine-month-old Mastiff mix with a stunning blue fawn coat, a broad powerful head, and a pair of pale blue-grey eyes that are absolutely impossible to look away from. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on June 6th, and how a puppy this adorable and this sweet ended up on his own is hard to imagine. At 59 lbs and just nine months old he is still growing - with an estimated adult weight of 70 to 85 lbs, there is a lot of magnificent dog still to come. Atlas already knows sit and has been described as super sweet - which shines through from the moment you meet him. He is still working on his leash manners and has a puppy's enthusiasm for greeting people, which means he pulls on leash and sometimes forgets to keep all four paws on the floor. For a nine-month-old with that much joy and energy, this is completely expected - and with consistent positive reinforcement training it will come together beautifully. A dog like Atlas is a long term investment in one of the most rewarding companionships imaginable. Mastiff mixes are known for their loyalty, their gentleness with their families, and their deeply devoted nature. The work put into his training now will pay off for years and years to come - and the person who puts in that effort will end up with an extraordinary dog by their side. Atlas is adorable, sweet, and full of the boundless enthusiasm that makes puppies so completely irresistible. He is waiting in Kennel #825 for someone ready to grow with him - to guide him, train him, and watch him become the magnificent, loyal companion he is already on his way to being. Come meet him - those blue-grey eyes will seal the deal before you even say hello. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Story
Jet is a young, energetic pittie with a big heart and an even bigger need for structure. Like many teenage dogs in grown-up bodies, he’s still learning how to channel his enthusiasm in healthy ways. He struggles with separation anxiety and can be destructive when bored or under-stimulated — but with guidance, consistency, and proper outlets, he has so much potential. Jet loves people and truly wants to do the right thing. He’s smart, eager to engage, and thrives when given clear direction and positive reinforcement. He’ll need an adopter committed to working with our trainer to help him build confidence, independence, and good habits. This isn’t a “starter dog.” Jet is for someone who understands young, high-energy dogs and is ready to invest the time to help him succeed. In the right home, with structure and patience, Jet can absolutely grow into the loyal, steady companion he’s meant to be.

Story
Meet Grizzy Grizzy is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. This sweet 4-year-old boy came from a high-risk shelter and has been waiting far too long for his forever family. Two years is a long time to be overlooked, especially for a dog as easy, loving, and loyal as Grizzy. He’s a laid-back couch potato at heart, but don’t let that fool you. Grizzy also loves a good long walk, enjoys playing ball, and is always happy to spend time with his people. He’s the perfect balance of chill companion and fun adventure buddy. Around the house, Grizzy is as easy as they come. He loves to settle under the table while you eat or work, and if you’re sitting still long enough, chances are he’ll be laying right on your feet. He just wants to be close. He’s affectionate, gentle, sweet, and has a way of making you feel like you’re his whole world. Grizzy is good with other dogs his size and has done well with kids. He has not been tested with cats. After everything he’s been through, Grizzy is ready for the life he’s always deserved: a soft couch, a loving family, walks around the neighborhood, a ball to chase, and someone who will finally choose him for good. Grizzy is ready to be your best friend. All he needs is a chance.
