Meet Winnie! Winnie is another one of our babies who was found just wandering around a rural area in South Georgia. Locals reported seeing Winnie waiting at the bus stop for children each day but still no one ever came looking for her Winnie is a strikingly beautiful brindle girl, about 5 yrs old. She's very chill and would probably thrive as the Queen of her own Castle, but she does get along well with other dogs too. A nice quiet place to sun bathe outside and a comfy sofa with a soft blanket is what this lovely lady wants more than anything else! As is very common with most of the dogs we rescue from rural areas, Winnie did test positive for heartworm disease. RMG utilizes a slow kill treatment protocol studied by a veterinary cardiologist in Atlanta. All treatment medications are provided and there are typically no lasting effects after successful treatment  Interested in adding a bit of royalty to your family? Cobo is an absolutely GORGEOUS young Mastiff. He is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on shots. He is a well mannered 71 pound male we approximate to be 2yrs old. He is fun, curious and loves to smile when with his people.

Yale is a 6 month old, male, Mastiff mix. Yale is mostly black with some brindle and white coloring. He is neutered, weighs 40lbs, is microchipped and fully vaccinated. Yale is too young for a Heartworm test. Yale is very friendly with people.

This big fellow is Hendrix! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 3/23, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers describe Hendrix as friendly, though a little shy at first. He warms up quickly with kind words and gentle pets. He is a little jumpy and barks in his kennel, but once outside he calms down. Someone must have loved him at one point because he knows several commands including sit, down, and stay. If you have experience with large breed dogs and Hendrix sounds like a good fit for you, please come meet him! Hendrix is approximately 3 years old and weighs 74 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. He is neutered and will be microchipped upon adoption. Hendrix is waiting in run 883; his ID # is 8915. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
I found Beaux outside of my house one day when he was estimated to be around 4-5 months old. I instantly fell in love with him due to his goofy personality. I kept him because I assumed he would grow up to be a lower energy breed, which is something I needed due to my issues with chronic pain. I have had him since September of 2023, and quickly realized that his energy was too much for my chronic pain to handle. I kept him because I loved him, but I learned that his needs weren’t being met, and I know he deserves so much better than what I can give him. He is a fun, goofy boy that loves anything to do with water and loves a good cuddle. He would be so much happier if he had an owner that could consistently take him on walks and play with him, which I am unable to do. He has a cat brother that he also likes to play with, he is surprisingly gentle with him given his size. He is also pretty well trained, but may need a refresher on some commands because I haven't been keeping up with it.
