Ruby is a 5½-year-old female Mastiff/Boxer mix whose life recently changed through no fault of her own. After spending nearly her entire life in a loving home, her owner had to surrender her due to changing life circumstances. Ruby is now waiting patiently for the chance to feel the comfort, safety, and love of a home again — and the sooner she finds her new family, the better. At over 100 pounds, Ruby is an extra-large girl with a soft, solid coat, expressive eyes, and one of the gentlest demeanors you’ll ever see in a dog her size. She absolutely adores people and quickly forms deep bonds with her humans. Once Ruby loves you, you truly have a loyal friend for life. She’s protective of those she cares about and devoted to her family in the sweetest way. Ruby is a happy, affectionate girl who greets people with a wagging tail and her signature move — leaning her big body against you for pets and attention. She enjoys playing with toys and is great at entertaining herself, especially if she has a sturdy bone or rubber toy to chew on. She does well with other dogs when given a slow introduction and when her boundaries are respected. Ruby is also phenomenal with kids and would thrive in a family environment where she can soak up attention and companionship. Because she has a prey drive toward smaller animals, Ruby would do best in a home without cats, rabbits, hamsters, or other small pets. The good news? Ruby comes with excellent house manners — she is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. Ruby would do wonderfully in just about any household that’s ready to welcome a big dog with an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a soft soul and plenty of love to give, Ruby might be the perfect match for your family.
