Story
Hi, my name is Sky, I`m approximately 5 years old and weigh 95# (yes, I could probably lose a few pounds, but the staff here say I`m perfect the way I am). I was brought to Macomb County Animal Control due to my previous owners no longer being able to care for me. I know how sad that it, but I`ve been keeping my spirits up and I`m hopeful that I will have a new family in no time.Since being here, the staff say that I am not only a silly girl, I`m also one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I love all the attention, belly rubs, putting my front paws up to you can pet me. A habit I have that`s not so good (so they say) is that I like to walk between your legs (the staff say I`m too big for that) so you`ll have to mindful of me. I`m in love with stuffed toys and will walk around with them. Treats are amazing (I didn`t get this amazing figure by accident)!I do great with other dogs here and wouldn`t mind having a new brother or sister, but I`d like to meet them first. Because of my size, the staff do recommend that children in the home should be over the age of 12 and meet me prior to adoption. I have not had the opportunity to engage with any cats since being here, so if you have one, slow and proper introductions will need to be done.I would prefer a home with a large yard and a family that is willing to take me on lots of walks and adventures. Apartment or mobile home living would not be suited for me.If you are interested in meeting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the adoption process, it is suggested that you complete the online application found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationMy adoption fee is $180

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 dog/cat that you are interested in.-Attach a copy of proof of home ownership (i.e. tax bill, deed, or mortgage payment – you can black out the account #, etc.) or animal clause/agreement of your rental agreement. This must be in a .jpeg format. If you are unable to send in this format, please be prepared to provide this documentation in another way prior to adoption.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other dogs/cats. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
I brought these two beautiful English Mastiffs in 2018 as puppies. They’ve been a joy to have and are two very sweet brothers. They’re ginormous but the size just looks intimidating once those big ears go down and that giant tail gets to wagging they’re two ginormous babies, so loveable!!! I’m in the process of opening a school and don’t have nearly enough time to be with them. I hate to see them go but I’d rather see them with a loving family with or without kids so they can get the love back that they deserve. I don’t want to see them split up because they’re brothers and have never been apart from birth. Meet Roscoe and Major!

Story
Meet adorable Lynda! She is a young girl looking for love and guidance to help her blossom into an amazing dog. Lynda can be very shy around new people and will take time to feel comfortable in new environments. Once she feels safe, she loves to play and roll around in the yard. She has a fun, goofy and loving personality that is shining through more each and every day. She is crate trained and is doing amazing with pottying outside when on a regular schedule. If Lynda sounds like a good fit for your family, fill out an application to meet this sweet girl at www.ccrcdogs.com! We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   September 30, 2023, 1:13 pm
