Estimated DOB: 2023 Breed: Mastiff Mix Gender: Neutered Male Size: Large, ~65lbs Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Prefers adult friends Activity Level: Medium/High Special Needs: At this time, Charlie is hoping to find a forever family that is experienced with, or open to learning more about working with fearful dogs. Since Charlie unfortunately was not ki cared for by his previous owners in the first year of his life. This has results in him being quite fearful of things like new places, people, and loud noises. With guidance from our trainer, Charlie's foster family has been working on desensitizing him to things that he finds scary in order to help him gain more confidence and learn that he is safe in the home.

Story
ADOPTION PENDINGHi my name is Levi and I am excited to find my forever home. My foster Mom tells me my brindle pattern reminds her of a tiger and how beautiful I am. I am a big snuggler and like to put my head right on your shoulder and nestle right in for a big hug. I love my food and I have an internal alarm clock so I know when it is feeding time and I will remind you. I do need to be reminded myself to be patient and wait for my food because I am just so excited it tastes so yummy. I have not been on any walks as of yet because I was waiting for my vaccines but my foster mom takes me around the backyard with my harness and leash and she says I do very well and I'm such a good boy. I am working on the house training, I do need regular potty breaks outside and I do like to have company with me when I am outside otherwise I may follow you back into the house and accidentally pee on the floor. My foster mom likes to play with me and run me around the house and I play with my favourite foster sibling until I get tired and then they put me into my "bed" crate, where I can last about 4-5 hours as long as no one bothers me otherwise I want to come out and play and see what's going on. I am not the biggest fan of being alone yet and I do really like attention, but really who doesn't I am working on some commands "off" which means to let go of something that I may not supposed to be chewing or biting. And "sit" which I haven't quite mastered yet but I am getting there. I look forward to meeting my adopters and going to my forever home where I will spoil my people with endless snuggles and kisses!! The following vetting has been completed - fully de wormed- neutered- 1st and 2nd vaccines ( owner will be responsible for final booster/rabies) - micro chippedLOCATED IN AJAX

Story
Hello there! I'm Darcy, a sweet and curious little puppy. My days are filled with exploring, playing, and of course, lots of cuddling. I have a soft spot for my fellow canines and I really hope my forever home has a fur friend or two for me to play with! I'm a mellow girl, preferring a good nap over chaos any day. I'm a bit of a chatterbox with a lot to say, but don't worry, it's all in good fun! The great outdoors is my playground, where I love to run and sniff around. I have a cleft lip (requiring no medical intervention) and I think it adds to my charm and certainly doesn't slow me down. I'm learning lots everyday! So far, I'm starting to follow foster mom's instructions to "sit" and "come". My new family will need to continue working on my basic obedience, house-training, and crate training. I promise to fill your life with laughter, companionship, and endless tail wags. Adopt me, and let's embark on a beautiful journey together!located in Selwyn

Story
adoption pendingHi, my name is Socks. I'm super friendly and I love everyone and everything, especially my canine foster fur sibling. I'm very curious and like to put my nose in everything. Cupboards, power tools, you name it, I want to explore it. My foster family says I'm fearless. Because I'm a baby my crate training and house training are works in progress. I really don't like my crate at all when the door is closed, but I will go in there to eat my meals. FM says I need to learn to settle down and be by myself a little bit but I can't understand why. I'm getting really good at asking to go outside to do my business.I know my name and come when called(most of the time) and I know how to sit and wait for treats. I'm also learning "drop it". I am going to be a bigger girl and my foster family is working on teaching me not to jump on people. It would be great if my new family continued that training, especially if that family has tiny humans in the mix.Because I'm still a baby, I'm teething and I like chewing/nibbling on everything(including fingers, toes and flip flops). I'm good with tradesies so all you need to do is tell me no and give me something that is okay to chew on instead . I love stuffed toys and anything fuzzy so those are always great.Even though I would be great as an only dog, I would REALLY REALLY love to have a dog sibling to play and wrestle with, after all socks like being paired up, right?I would be better in a house as opposed to an apartment or condo because I love to run and play and I have lots of energy, so I would like a back yard to romp around in. If you want a sassy, cuddly addition to your home, I'm your girl.located in Waubaushene

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
