This big girl has a gentle heart and seems to find comfort simply in having her people nearby.New situations can be a little overwhelming for Abby, so she may need some patience and time to settle in when she first arrives at her forever home. Once she feels safe and comfortable, she’s happy to have her people close by. She does pull a bit on leash, but she is manageable and would likely benefit from a little practice and encouragement.When it comes to other dogs, Abby is perfectly content to mind her own business. She doesn’t seem to appreciate other dogs getting into her personal space, so she may be happiest as your one-and-only. That said, Abby has lived with at least one other dog before, so a calm, respectful canine companion may be a possibility with a slow, thoughtful introduction.What Abby really wants is a quiet, loving home where she can decompress, build confidence, and know that she’s finally safe and loved. She may need a little time to show you her true personality, but this deserving girl is ready for someone willing to give her that chance.If you have room in your heart for a big, sweet lady who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Abby would love to meet you.

Meet Delilah! Delilah may need a little time to show you her heart, but once she does, you’ll discover a very sweet, very snuggly girl. New people and situations can be overwhelming for Delilah, so she’ll need a patient adopter who will give her time to decompress, build confidence, and come out of her shell at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she loves attention, leans in for pets, and is happiest being close to her people. Delilah is food motivated (hot dogs are her favourite!), knows her sit, and is ready to work on her leash manners. She can be quite the enthusiastic puller, so her adopter should be prepared to help her learn some polite walking skills. She was wonderfully polite meeting another dog and may do well with a canine companion, pending a proper introduction. Her history with cats is unknown. She can potentially live with children, but older kids or dog-savvy teens are recommended. Delilah is a Special Paws girl and requires daily allergy medication, likely for the rest of her life. Her adopter will need to be comfortable providing this ongoing care. She can also be sensitive about having her paws and ears handled, so patience and respect for her boundaries will be important. If you believe that patience, kindness, treats, and love can help a nervous dog blossom, Delilah might be your girl. Give her the time she needs, and you’ll get to watch a sweet, affectionate companion discover just how wonderful life can be. Delilah is ready for her fresh start. Hi, I’m Grizzly, but you can call me Grizz, Big Grizz, Sir Grizz-a-lot, or whatever nickname you inevitably come up with for the enormous, goofy creature currently occupying your personal space.I’m a three-year-old Mastiff mix with a pretty big body and an even bigger personality. I came to the shelter after my person passed away, and while nobody knows much about my life before that, I likely spent some of my time living on the streets. I’ve had a bit of a harder start than most, so I can be nervous when I encounter new people or things. The good news is that I’m a pretty quick study when it comes to realizing the world isn’t as scary as I initially thought. Give me a little time, and my inner giant baby comes bursting out.Once I’m comfortable, prepare yourself for approximately 100% SAPPY DOG. I love my humans, I love attention, and I would like nothing more than to go for a nice, leisurely walk where I can sniff absolutely everything, because apparently every smell is VERY IMPORTANT and must be investigated immediately. I’m actually pretty decent on leash, provided my nose doesn’t suddenly receive an urgent assignment and decide that we are absolutely, positively going in the opposite direction. After our walk, I’d like to come home, wedge my gigantic self between your legs, and receive approximately seventeen thousand pets. I am not above becoming a 100-pound lap dog if you allow it.I have met children and done well but because I’m still getting to know the world and my history is largely a mystery, I’ll need adopters who are willing to let me settle in at my own pace. One thing I can tell you with complete confidence is that cats are NOT my thing, so I need a cat-free home. I`m selective in my dog friends as well. I would need a calm respectful female dog friend if I must live with them and we would need to meet first to see if she is my right fit.If you’re looking for a big, goofy, slightly ridiculous sweetheart who will happily accompany you on long sniffy walks and then turn into the world’s largest cuddle bug, I might just be your guy.
