Story
Meet Mateo! Mateo is a South African Boerboel who turns 2 in April. He's energetic, playful, and loves to run and chase things, so daily walks and plenty of exercise are a must. He may be shy at first, but once he warms up, he's incredibly friendly and affectionate. He has a healthy appetite, too! I'm looking for a loving, stable home with room for him to thrive—ideally one with a fenced yard. Because of his size and energy, an apartment wouldn't be a good fit. Diesel, the gray dog pictured with Mateo, is 10 years old. He's friendly, laid-back, and low-maintenance. My job requires frequent travel, and as Diesel gets older, that lifestyle has become harder on him. There will be a rehoming fee for Mateo, but I'd consider waiving it for the right home willing to take both dogs. Their happiness and well-being come first. Please reach out if you can give them the home they deserve.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tula originally arrived at our shelter from the city pound on Dec. 1, 2024. She was adopted soon after and has lived in that home for almost 2 years. Her family dynamic has changed, and Tula has been facing some adjustment issues. Because of this, she is now looking for a new home in which she can be the only dog. Tula is now around 3 years old and weighs close to 80 pounds. Her DNA test showed that mastiff is her main breed, but she also mixed with many others like lab and German shepherd. Tula has been fully vetted, is microchipped, and her fee is $150. Tula is currently staying with her adopters while she waits for a new home. Tula absolutely adores people and is happy and loving. She truly wants to be the center of someone's world and willingly makes her people the center of hers. She has had some basic training. She does pretty well on leash and will need a lot of regular exercise. She's a strong girl who thinks of herself as a lap dog. She's up for any adventure! Tula has done well with all the people that she meets. She has done okay with well mannered male dogs but really would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Smaller animals are a no for her. This beautiful girl would make a wonderful, loyal companion! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
