Story
Kodiak is the true definition of an adventure buddy! Do you enjoy hiking, running, biking, swimming or exploring? Kodiak is the perfect dog for you! In fact he is already and waiting at the door for you! He is an intelligent dog who is capable of learning extremely quickly. He already knows the commands sit, down, stay, come, and speak! Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.

Story
Hello there! My name is Thor, Male - neuteredMastiff x American Bulldog MixApprox. 2 years oldI'm a big, lovable marshmallow wrapped in an even bigger package. My heart is as large as my frame, and I'm eager to share all the love I have with my forever family. I tend to form strong attachments to my favourite individuals, protecting them from unknowns though I am focused on establishing positive boundaries with the help of my shelter friends. When it comes to people, I'm friendly but can get a little nervous, especially around sudden movements. I thrive best with slow and gentle introductions. Once I feel comfortable, I transform into your classic wiggle bug, ready to make friends and soak up all the affection you have to offer.I enjoy my meals at a normal pace, but what really gets my tail wagging is praise, treats, and spending time with people. I'm highly motivated by love and snacks, which makes training and bonding with me a rewarding experience. I can become protective over toys, so I would do best in a trade-off situation or with gradually introduced toys once I'm settled into my new home. Too much excitement too quickly can be overwhelming for me.I'm still working on my basic training, which means we can learn together. With your guidance and a few tasty treats, I'm sure to pick up on commands and become the well-mannered companion you're searching for.Given my energy and size, I would thrive in a quiet home without young children-preferably with kids aged 12 years or older. I can be selective with doggy friends, but with a slow introduction, I may have the potential to socialize successfully. I do have a prey drive towards cats and would require a home without feline friends. If you're looking for a gentle giant who will fill your home with love and laughter, I'm your guy. Story
Meet Coops - A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Family Coops is a sweet, gentle-hearted young pup with a calm nature and a heart full of love to give. This handsome Mastiff mix was rescued alongside his two brothers after they were found wandering a remote highway in northern Manitoba. Despite his difficult start in life, Coops has shown nothing but kindness, resilience, and a quiet eagerness to trust. At just 7 months old, Coops is still discovering the world around him. He can be shy when meeting new people, but with patience, gentle encouragement, and a loving environment, his confidence continues to grow every day. Having a friendly, well-balanced canine companion in the home would be a huge benefit to this sweet boy, helping him feel safe and learn from a trusted friend. Coops is wonderful with other dogs and absolutely amazing with cats. He also does well with children and has a soft, gentle temperament that makes him a joy to be around. He enjoys car rides, is learning to walk on leash, and approaches life with a playful and inquisitive spirit. Coops has conquered house training and crate training with flying colours. He is not food aggressive, is comfortable being handled, and has shown no leash reactivity toward people or other dogs. Coops would thrive in a home with a secure yard, another friendly dog, and a family committed to helping him continue building his confidence. While he isn't suited to apartment living, he will make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the time, patience, and love he deserves. Could Coops be the missing piece your family has been searching for? This sweet, soulful boy is waiting for a patient and loving home where he can continue to blossom into the amazing companion he was always meant to be. Story
Meet Spotty Dotty! Spotty Dotty's story began with heartbreak, but her future is filled with hope. Found abandoned in Northern Manitoba, Spotty Dotty spent weeks waiting faithfully for her owners to return. Sadly, no one ever came back for her. By the time caring neighbours found her, she was severely underweight and starving, yet she never lost her gentle spirit. Since arriving in foster care, Spotty Dotty has flourished. She has settled beautifully into her foster home, adores her foster dog siblings, and has shown everyone what a truly special dog she is. Despite everything she has endured, she remains incredibly affectionate, loving, and trusting. Spotty Dotty is a cuddle enthusiast who loves being close to her people. She has a calm and gentle demeanor that is remarkable for a dog her age and makes her a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loyal best friend. Her sweet nature, kind heart, and quiet resilience shine through in everything she does. Having experienced more hardship than any dog should, Spotty Dotty deserves a family who will cherish her and show her the love she has always deserved. In return, she will reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of companionship. You won't regret opening your heart to Spotty Dotty. She is truly a treasure-a gentle, loving soul who is ready to spend the rest of her life knowing she is safe, wanted, and loved.
