Story
Hello there! My name is Thor, Male - neuteredMastiff x American Bulldog MixApprox. 1 year, 6 months oldI'm a big lovable marshmallow in a BIG package. You'll find that my heart is just as large as my frame, and I'm ready to share all the love I have with my forever family. When it comes to people, I'm friendly but can be a little nervous, especially around sudden movements. I thrive best with slow and gentle introductions. Once I feel comfortable, I'm your classic wiggle bug, eager to make friends and soak up all the affection you have to offer.I haven't quite figured out which toys I like best yet, but I'm excited to explore and find my favourites with you! What really gets my tail wagging is praise, treats, and people. I'm highly motivated by love and snacks, which will make training and bonding with me a delightful experience.I'm still working on my basic training, which means we can learn together. With your guidance and a few tasty treats, I'm sure to pick up on commands and become the well-mannered companion you're looking for.So, if you're looking for a gentle giant who will fill your home with love and laughter, I'm your guy. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Cypress  Cypress is part of our Emergency Christmas Crew and is a Mastiff x Rottweiler mix (with maybe a little Beagle flair) born September 4, 2025. Cypress is being fostered alongside his sister Noel and has had excellent exposure to cats, kids, adults, and dogs of all sizes and ages. He’s a friendly, gentle, and adaptable puppy who does well in a variety of environments and with all kinds of people and animals. He is crate trained, working on leash and house manners, and doing very well for his age with only the occasional puppy accident. Cypress enjoys adventures and exercise but is also a total snuggle bug and couch potato when it’s time to relax. As a large-breed puppy, Cypress is expected to grow into a big boy, and his future family will be required to commit to ongoing formal training and continued socialization to help him become a well-mannered, confident adult dog. Cypress does experience car/motion sickness, so his adopters will need to be patient and prepared to manage this as he grows (many puppies outgrow it with time and positive experiences). If you’re ready to invest in a gentle giant in the making and provide the guidance he needs to thrive, Cypress may be your perfect match  For more information of their backstory, check out their welcome post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17nfLJ7gtm/?mibextid=wwXIfr Apply to adopt and give this Christmas boy the forever home he deserves. https://www.hankshaven.ca/info/adoption #EmergencyChristmasCrew #puppyforadoption #AdoptorShopResponsibly Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 12, 2026, 7:13 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Noel  Part of our Emergency Christmas Crew, Noel is a Mastiff x Rottweiler mix (with maybe a little Beagle spice) born September 4, 2025. This sweet girl is being fostered with her brother Cypress and has proven to be incredibly gentle, friendly, and adaptable. She’s great with cats, kids, adults, and dogs of all sizes and ages—a true social butterfly. Noel is crate trained, working on leash and house manners, and doing wonderfully with only the occasional puppy accident. She loves a good adventure and exercise but is just as happy being a couch potato and snuggle bug. As a large-breed puppy, Noel is expected to grow into a big girl, and her future family will need to be committed to ongoing formal training and continued socialization to help her grow into a well-mannered, confident adult dog. Noel does experience  car/motion sickness , so her adopters will need to be patient and prepared to manage this as she grows (many puppies outgrow it with time and positive experiences). Story
Kodiak is the true definition of an adventure buddy! Do you enjoy hiking, running, biking, swimming or exploring? Kodiak is the perfect dog for you! In fact he is already and waiting at the door for you! He is an intelligent dog who is capable of learning extremely quickly. He already knows the commands sit, down, stay, come, and speak! Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.
