Story
Meet Sloane - A Gentle Giant in the Making!
Sloane is a sweet, loving Mastiff mix puppy with a heart full of potential and a personality that becomes more endearing every day. At just 5 months old and weighing approximately 43 pounds, this gentle girl is a beautiful example of how much love, patience, and positive experiences can help a shy puppy blossom.
Sloane is a little reserved when meeting new people and may need some time to feel comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. Once she begins to feel safe, her sweet personality shines through. She is a loving girl who enjoys being close to her people, and when she settles down in the house, she may choose to lie right on your feet just to be near you. Of course, she is still a puppy, and the occasional zoomie is always a possibility!
Her larger size makes her puppy antics especially adorable. While working on her leash walking, Sloane has shown her playful, silly side by flopping onto her back and rolling around like a big puppy who hasn't quite figured out how to coordinate all those legs yet. These moments are a wonderful reminder that beneath her size is a young dog discovering the world and learning to enjoy being a puppy.
Sloane is a bright girl who is picking up her training quickly. She is learning commands such as sit and stay, and she is making excellent progress with her house training. With regular trips outside and attention to her cues, she is very close to having this important skill mastered.
She is also becoming comfortable with her crate and will happily self-crate during the day. At night, however, she would much rather be close to her people. Her affectionate nature makes her a wonderful candidate for a family who enjoys having their dog nearby and can continue helping her build confidence at her own pace.
Sloane is good with women, men, children, and other dogs. She currently lives with seven cats and has quickly learned to respect their boundaries, which is a lovely reflection of her ability to learn and adapt. She does not bark excessively, is not food aggressive, and rides well in the car. She is still working on her leash skills, but she is not reactive toward people or other dogs.
As a high-energy puppy, Sloane will thrive with a family ready to provide daily exercise, training, playtime, and plenty of positive experiences. A securely fenced yard is important for her, and a home with another friendly, well-socialized dog is preferred, as she is accustomed to canine companionship. Apartment living would not be the right fit for her.
Sloane is looking for a loving family who understands that confidence takes time and that the best relationships are built through patience, trust, and consistency. In return, she has every opportunity to grow into a loyal, affectionate, and wonderful companion.
If you have room in your heart and home for a big, beautiful puppy with a gentle soul, a playful spirit, and so much potential, Sloane would love the chance to meet you!
