Story
When Rocket joined the rescue he was in rough shape. He had a horrible skin infection, double ear infections, had to have a dental with many extractions and had 4 masses removed, which were tested and thankfully came back benign. He is now heathy and ready to find his forever home! This gentle 12 year old, 19 lb Dachshund mix is calm and happiest when he’s close to his people. Rocket gets along great with both dogs and cats and enjoys his daily walks at a nice, easy pace. He is very food motivated (treats are definitely the way to his heart!) and is doing really well with his potty training. He only barks when he’s feeling a little lonely, so he would love a home where someone is around most of the time or works from home. At night, he likes to curl up in bed with his person—who could say no to that little face? If Rocket sounds like the perfect companion for you, please submit an adoption application at www.rescuerowinc.org.*Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours.
*You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
