Story
Mazie is 6 months old and 20 lbs. She's adorable, sweet, very affectionate, fun and friendly. Mazie is a lower-rider pup,  possibly a dachshund/terrier mix. She has a scruffy wiry coat with gorgeous colors. Mazie is being fostered in a home with large dogs and gets along with everyone.  She believes is just the right size to play with large and medium dogs :) Mazie would love to find a home with another doggy where she can look up to her sibling to learn all the puppy things.  Puppies require patience, guidance, and training to become the best dog they can be.  325 donation includes three rounds of puppy vaccines, dewormer, a one-year rabies vaccine, microchip and registration, and spay/neuter. Please complete an adoption application and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours via email. https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/        We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Bonne Maman, "Bonnie", is a sweet stunning brindle 3 year old Dachshund mix weighing who weighs only 17 lbs. She is dog friendly and loves to cuddle with people and other dogs alike!  Bonnie plays with the resident dogs in her foster home- "keep away" with toys is her favorite game. Seriously, she is a toy hog! She would enjoy a home with another dog but will do just fine as an only dog in her forever home.  Bonnie is housetrained and walks well on a leash. She doesn't require crating   To meet this pretty girl in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online application. Bonne Maman is waiting to hear from you!  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding area. ##1736645##

Story
Hey, my name is Leroy. I'm not meaner than a junkyard dog but my foster mom says I  might  make a great guard dog. I watch over her very closely and am always looking around corners for a ground attack. Course, being a Dachshund, sniffing is what I do. I might go behind you when there's a big dog around, but I will bark loudly. Foster mom also says I'm as sweet as the day is long. I love a lap, walks, and being outside. Having a lot of time outside is new to me. Did you know about all of the smells? And how awesome is it to roll in the grass?! I'm getting the hang of being house and crate trained. I got a late start but catching on quickly since I'm so smart. I'm a little bit shy when I meet new people but warm up quickly. And in case you didn't notice, I carry a little extra weight but my foster mom is helping me walk that off.    So when you see me, I will look thinner (plus the camera adds pounds).  Fill out an application and come meet me! Please visit our website at tmhpr.com for more information about our organization and our available pets.  Safe pet home visits & vet checks are required. For this reason, we only adopt locally - in the Dallas area. If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our available pets, please fill out the adoption application found at:   tmhpr.com . Story
Daphne came to us when her sweet mama was moved into hospice care. She was so worried about Daphne, and thanks to a wonderful foster family, we were able to bring her into the rescue. She's adjusting to the changes she's been through and doing well so far. She enjoys exploring and is making herself at home. Daphne would love to find a fairly calm home with a new family. She does well with other dogs and would probably prefer to avoid the chaos of small children. If you'd like to sponsor Daphne to help with her care while she's looking for a new family, you can do so through Petbucks for only $19.00 a month. https://petbucks.org/pet/6537/sponsor/create ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Brody's Still Waiting Brody is a sweet adorable pup who is patiently waiting for his Forever family to find him. He's about 6 mos and will remain on the smaller end of medium size. He sort of resembles a dachshund with long legs, but also looks like a little dobie mix. Brody loves making doggie friends and he likes kids too. He has also been around cats. Brody watched as his brother and sister left to go to their new homes. He's ready for his turn! His "puppy dog eyes" are so sweet.
