Story
Carmal is a sweet 1-year-old Miniature Pinscher–Dachshund mix who was found abandoned at Chumash Park in Agoura Hills alongside his brother. Both dogs were well groomed, leading us to believe they were sadly dumped. They had no collars, tags, or microchips and were not neutered. Thanks to a kind Good Samaritan who refused to look the other way, the brothers were kept safe while every effort was made to locate their family. After posters, shelter visits, and outreach to other rescues led nowhere, we stepped in to help give Carmal the future he deserves. Carmal weighs about 12 pounds and has a gentle, shy nature that truly shines once he’s given a little time to warm up. He’s an enthusiastic and playful boy who loves running around the backyard, playing with toys, and enjoying a happy rhythm of playtime followed by cozy naps—especially with his brother. He does well with other dogs and is crate trained. Carmal loves being near his people and is quite snuggly. He’s gentle, sweet, and affectionate, and happily gives kisses. He’s very trusting with his favorite people and is food-motivated, loving treats without being pushy or protective. While he’s not fully potty trained yet, he’s making progress. He also has a classic “shadow dog” personality and enjoys following his people from room to room. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, does great with kids, and enjoys soaking up both playtime and affection. Now neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, Carmal is ready for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe, cherished, and truly blossom. ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! He loves racing around the backyard, playing with toys, and settling in for a nap after a good play session—often right alongside his brother. He’s friendly with other dogs, crate trained, and enjoys a nice balance of activity and downtime. He’s affectionate, gentle, and loves treats. He is highly food-motivated without being pushy or aggressive. While he’s still working on perfecting his potty training, he’s making steady progress. He’s also great with kids and other dogs. Story
Breed: Miniature Pinscher Age: 12 wks. as of 1/6/26 Weight: 4 lbs. Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unsure Good with kids: unsure Energy level: unsure Good with men/strangers: yes Hypoallergenic: no Special home requirements or medical: would do best in a home with a small, gentle canine companion Additional info: Meet Pistachio 💚 Pistachio is a tiny 3-month-old Miniature Pinscher weighing just 3 pounds 8 ounces, and she is truly the sweetest little soul you’ll ever meet. With her long, delicate legs, she walks like a baby deer, stopping hearts everywhere she goes. Once you scoop her up, she’s perfectly content to melt into your arms and nap the day away, gently nuzzling her little head into your chest in a way that makes you fall in love instantly. Pistachio is quiet and shy right now as this is her first time being separated from her mom, but with patience, time, and lots of love, she will blossom into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. She loves other dogs and would do best in a home with small, gentle canine companions who can help her feel safe and confident. She is not fully vaccinated yet, so she will need a family willing to keep her indoors and protected until she completes her vaccines. Pistachio is looking for a calm, loving home that understands she’s just a baby and is ready to give her the security and affection she deserves. Story
A dog with all its eyeballs out, a dog with a blackened body, a dog with rotting genitalia. We struggle to find the words to describe this horrific scene. Like hamsters in a wheel, the dogs plead for help. There is every dog that has once been a trend to have. Once popular dogs are dying in the corner and currently popular breeds are crying with their entire bodies to save them. This is a place where animals have been illegally abused and bred for 25 years. From this hell, WEACT rescued #weact_nox
