Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Meet Chico!!!!  He is approx. 4 yrs old.  A MinPin mix how LOVES to be clung to his person.  He does well in the crate, does well on car rides and does well with other dogs but wants nothing more than to be right smack next to his person.  He tested well with cats.  He would be good with older children due to the fact that he gets very excited for treats and will jump up and grab the treat.  He's an all around good boy who is looking for his happily ever after.  Can you be Chico's person????Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 27, 2026, 9:55 am

Story
DOB 3-29-2026 This little red head is Luke and he is a sweet boy! Luke is good with others, loves to play and a social boy, he will be around 10 pounds as an adult. Luke is up to date on shots and all medical for his age. His adoption fee is 750.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
A LITTLE CRAZY & CRAZY-CUTE Hello, I'm a friendly guy named Felix. I love going on walks with all the staff, playing in the yard, enjoy meeting new people and am also good around other dogs. Like all dogs, I am a pack animal. That means I need a strong alpha leader to be consistent, remain calm, and let my loving personality shine. Even with training, I'm a high-strung resource guarder and require an adopter who will be a confident leader and continue with my training. Biting is an ongoing challenge for me too, so don't let my extreme cuteness override the fact that I'm high maintenance. The staff believe that I would do best in a single person household so that I don't develop any guarding behavior of one person over the other. I am microchipped, neutered, and up to date on my vaccinations.

Story
Vivian is an 11-year-old Miniature Pinscher/Papillon mix who has been a beloved member of our family since she was a puppy. Writing this is incredibly difficult, but due to severe allergies affecting our daughter’s health, we are faced with the heartbreaking decision of finding Vivian a new home.Vivian is a sweet, affectionate little dog who loves a quiet life. Her favorite things are curling up on a soft pillow, basking in a sunny spot, and being close to her people. She is happiest in a calm environment where she can relax and enjoy her golden years.Because of her age and personality, Vivian would do best in a home with a yard and without young children or high-energy dogs. She gets along with calm dogs and cats but becomes stressed in busy environments. Apartment living has been especially difficult for her, and the constant foot traffic and noise cause anxiety.
