Story
Meet Monterey! Monterey is a 1 year-old, 11 pound Miniature Pinscher. Don't let his small size fool you - he's full of love and an all around great little guy! At first, Monterey is a little shy and timid, but he's getting more and confident every day. With time, patience, and love, he's sure to blossom with his new family. At times, he even shows off his playful side before settling in for the night besides his human. If he sounds like the perfect little bundle of joy for you, apply to adopt Monterey today! Monterey is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY, and his adoption fee is $550. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Eli - 10 months & 13lbs (as of 5/7), Chi/Min Pin Mix, Neutered  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Thier Foster Parent Says: "Eli is super smart, eager to learn, and full of curiosity about the world around him. He thrives on an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, whether that's exploring all the sights and smells on walks or proudly picking up sticks he spots along the way. He's a natural-born city pup — loud sounds don't faze him one bit, and he clearly enjoys all the attention he gets from admirers who stop to say hello. Speaking of hello — Eli is a true social butterfly. He greets every new person with enthusiasm and has never met a stranger he didn't love. He's wonderful with other animals too. In his current foster home, he gets along great with his foster siblings Addy, a 50-pound dog, and Socks, a 12-pound cat, and loves to play and wrestle with both of them. Whether it's a big dog or a curious cat, Eli is always up for making a new friend. Like any puppy, Eli is still learning the ropes — and he's a quick study. He may jump up to say hi or offer a few playful nibbles during a game, and he has a keen eye for shoelaces, eyeglasses, and anything else he can get his paws on — but he's picking up boundaries fast. On leash, he walks well and has the most adorable little strut — full of confidence and an energetic pep in every step. He's making great progress with potty training and mostly goes outside, but he knows to use a pee pad when he does need to go indoors. He does wonderfully being left alone and rarely fusses — and if he does, it's only for a few seconds before he settles right in for a nap.Above all, Eli is a love bug. Any chance he gets, he'll snuggle up beside you and remind you just how lucky you'd be to make him part of your family. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, and spirited little companion, Eli is your guy. Don't miss your chance to give this wonderful boy his forever home!" Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  TOLERANCE TO CITYCity pup – Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, may as well have been born here.POTTY TRAININGYes - doing great COMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSSocial butterfly – Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, loves anyone who will stop to say hello. BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDREN (always requires adult supervision)Maybe for age 12 and upSOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes – Good with most other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other caninesRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALS (cats, small pets, etc.)Yes - currently in a home with a cat MOUTHY BEHAVIORWorking on it – Is respectful of hands, feet, etc. but likes to chew on things they’re not supposed to like shoes, furniture, etc. He will stop if you say "No bite"SEPARATION ANXIETYAdjusting – Might cry for a few minutes when you first leave the house but settles pretty quickly and has no problem being left alone otherwise. LEASH MANNERSGetting the hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in their life but figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. CUDDLE BUG LEVELHigh – Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOListens to correctionCRATE TRAININGNot at all Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2730049##

Story
Small dog with great disposition. very personable and gets along well with everyone, cats and dogs. Loving companion, healthy. She is up to date on all shots as of 2026. I am looking to rehome her because I adopted her with a now ex, and I am having trouble giving her the care she requires on my own, with my busy schedule. I want her to have the attention she deserves. She is a very good, sweet dog.

Story
-Trey is a handsome Min Pin boy that is estimated to be one year old and weighing at slim and sleek 17 pounds.  This boy was found as a stray with a desperate need to be cared for with love and dedication.   Critter Cavalry Rescue was luckily contacted by the shelter director and implored to please find him a forever home and turn his sweet life around. Trey deserves to have a wonderful family or single person who wants this nice but nervous boy to be their cuddle bug for many years to come.   You can see in his face that he has never been treated so nicely.   His foster mom says he is submissive with the other dogs and would fit in with any family that has other cats and dogs.  He is crate trained and unbelievably housebroken.  Maybe he was someone's boy at one time and somehow lost his way.  He was not microchipped nor neutered and he seems a bit ragged around the edges when he was found.  One of those road warriors who somehow survived the odds of the past winter filled with snow and ice storms.  Trey loves the feel of the cool green grass as he rolls on his back with a smile.  He never growls even when some of the other jealous dogs have growled at him when he arrived.  He just takes it in stride.  He is quiet and needs some reassurance from his human foster mom.  Of course he feels vulnerable but we hope that soon there will be a wonderful door that will open for his future and someone will invite him home to live the dream life of a well-loved dog.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We adopt locally where we are based in Nashville,Tn and also transport to the northeastern states every weekend.  He is the perfect dog for so many different families   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 13, 2026, 6:55 pm
