Story
Pacer, a black and tan Miniature Pinscher, about 4.5 years old on 5/19/24, was rescued 2 years ago. He was morbidly obese and appeared to be in a catatonic state when we got him. He was so terrified that he completely shut down and moved so little that we were concerned that he wasn’t even breathing. We took him to the vet to bring him up to date on vaccinations, but decided to wait until he was less terrified before we put him through the trauma of being neutered. He was neutered and vaccinations updated on 5/31/24. Pacer, unfortunately, tested positive for heartworms and is on the slow kill, doxycycline protocol. Pacer will do best in a quiet home with an experienced dog owner. Due to his fearfulness, he will not be considered for homes with young children. Pacer is located in Arkansas. He currently weighs about 15 pounds. His adoption donation is $465 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to give Pacer the loving home he deserves and help him develop into the confident little guy he can become, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Ross is about 3.5 years and 8 lbs of love, kisses and fun. He is an absolute doll. Loves people and other dogs. Little Ross has been diagnosed with a Stage 3 heart murmur and will need daily medication for life. The medication costs approximately $80 per month. Is potty trained with a doggie door. Will let you know when its time for him to eat which is like 3xs a day. He perfers the predigree pouches with the gravy and bits. He is also alittle bossy. Loves to cover himself in blankets so you can't find him when your looking for little guy. He came from a home where he was loved; his mom died, and the family didn’t want him. He’s been in foster care since he came into rescue. He’s a perfect gentleman. Ross is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Hi everyone, I am a dashingly handsome Miniature Pinscher/Dachshund mix with low-rider legs and my name is Spike. I am 2 years old, weigh 21 lbs and I was found in San Antonio Texas tied to a pole. I was scared and confused, but fortunately, I was microchipped. Unfortunately, it was my owner who had left me there and no longer wanted me. I guess I should be grateful they didn't push me out of a car while traveling down the highway like many other abandoned dogs around here, but nonetheless, it was a blow to my ego. I’m sweet and easy and no trouble at all, so here I am… looking for a new forever family. I am a friendly boy, a bit shy at first but I warm up quickly and get along with everyone young and old, dogs and cats. I enjoy playtime with my doggy friends but in short spurts of 15-20 minutes and then I like to relax, chew on a bone, or sunbathe outside on a pretty day. I am not into doggy toys, but I’m into doggy treats and love them all, LOL. I have a calm demeanor, I rarely bark, and I’m well-behaved and housebroken. I learned how to use a doggy door after just 2 days in my foster home by watching the other dogs go outside, so I guess you could say I’m smart! I’m snuggly and affectionate, but not the kissy type, so I won't be slobbering all over you. I walk well with a harness and leash and I don't mind a ride in the car. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my new life started! Inquire about me today and bring me home! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Demon came with the name, but he definitely could use a new, more fitting one in his new forever home! He is about 3 to 5yrs old and has some vision impairments. He is a love bug and loves to be with his people once he gets to know you. Demon is quirky and will need someone patient and experienced with "little dog syndrome". He is good with other dogs. No children. If you would like to meet him, please fill out an application on our website and an officer will be in touch! www.naugatuckanimalcontrol.com
