Story
This adorable little girl is Maple and she's a 1-2 year old Mini Pin mix who is fully grown at 13 pounds. She has a wonderful & happy personality and is always up for a fun time. She gets along great with other dogs and loves everyone she meets. She also likes cats which makes her even more perfect. Maple is super smart with lots of fun energy but she's also a cuddle bug who will curl up with you and watch TV. She loves hanging out with people and going to dog parks too so we think she'd do well living as a solo pup or with a doggie sibling. As with most Mini Pins, she has lots of energy so we think she'd love a fully fenced in yard to play in. She's totally housebroken, sleeps through the night in her bed, and is healthy and up to date on all her vaccinations. She's living in a great Foster home in Farmingdale (Long Island) so reach out to Long Road Home (lrhrescue@gmail.com OR call 516-459-3509) to find out more about Maple and make a plan to go meet her.

Story
Name: Hazel Age: 1 year Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Miniature Pinscher mix Color: Black / Brown Weight: 3.6 kg Height (shoulder): 23 cm   Rescue Story   Hazel was rescued from a severe animal hoarding situation where dozens of dogs were found living together in poor conditions. All of the dogs were taken to a city shelter, and Hazel was fortunately rescued before her situation became worse. She is now safe and slowly learning what life with people can be like.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Hazel can be a little shy at first, but when someone calls her she will approach and happily settle into their arms. Because she grew up in a hoarding environment, she tends to be more cautious about new environments than people. In unfamiliar places, she often looks to humans for reassurance and comfort.   She has not met children under 13 yet, but we do not expect major issues. She can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, and once she becomes comfortable with someone she will even roll over to show her belly.   Socialization with Other Dogs   Since Hazel grew up with many dogs, she is used to living with them and often seeks comfort from the dogs she grew up with. They tend to sleep together in a little group, although she hasn’t shown a lot of playful interaction yet.   She may feel uncomfortable around larger dogs but is generally friendly with dogs of a similar or smaller size. If another dog challenges her, she prefers to avoid conflict and will simply move away.   With Cats   Her reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but a test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hazel has a low energy level and enjoys spending most of her time resting calmly.   Walks   She has not had much experience outside yet. When something unfamiliar appears, she may tremble out of fear. However, once she forms a strong bond with her person, she tends to follow them closely, which may make walks easier as her confidence grows.   Additional Notes   Hazel does not guard food from either people or other dogs. She currently does not show severe separation anxiety, but because of her hoarding background and strong bonds with the dogs she lived with, some initial adjustment may occur when separated from them.   She rarely barks, although she may bark along if other dogs start barking. She stays calm when placed in a kennel and is currently pad trained. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram! Story
Peaches is a 5-year-old, 16-pound sweetheart who made her journey from Tijuana and is now settling beautifully into suburban life. This gentle little lady is as mild-mannered as they come — quiet, observant, and full of soft affection.Peaches has been adjusting wonderfully to her new surroundings. She loves nothing more than lounging nearby, soaking up head scratches, and enjoying peaceful strolls along the boardwalk. On walks, she wears her harness like a pro. She doesn’t pull and will often pause to look back at you, as if to say, “We’re in this together, right?” While she’s still polishing her leash skills, she’s already proving to be a thoughtful and easy walking companion. She’s currently mastering the command “come” and continuing to build her obedience skills. Peaches appears to be housetrained and has been doing great with a consistent routine — she heads outside for potty breaks about 30 minutes after meals. She’s also comfortable in her crate during the day and often chooses it as her cozy little retreat for naps.Peaches would thrive with a medium-energy family who appreciates both active moments and quiet downtime. She’s still gaining confidence as she adjusts, so her forever family will need to continue reinforcing the wonderful progress she’s already made. She may do best as a solo dog where she can soak up all the love, though with time and patience, she could potentially learn to share her space with another calm pup.Because she is such a gentle soul, Peaches would do best in a loving home with children who understand how to respect her space and boundaries. If you’re looking for a loyal, tender-hearted companion who will happily curl up by your side after a nice walk, Peaches might just be your perfect match.  Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.  To apply to foster/foster-to-adopt to adopt Peaches, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2661040##
