Story
Rusty just turned 6 years old in September 2025. He loves to cuddle, and he does well with kids as we have quite a few. He is anxiety prone, and would do better with someone who works from home or spends significant time at home. Rusty is housebroken! He is smart, but would probable do better in a home with an experienced owner who has time to train him. He’s a good boy overall! He does well with other dogs….cats not so much.

Story
Hello, looking for a home for a very affectionate 10 year old mini pinscher pomeranian mix. Her name is Bebe. She is a rescue who is my other 2 dogs' sibling, but she is NOT a multi dog household kind of girl. She was severely abused for a long time. I've worked with many trainers, meds, and therapy. However, she just can't be with other dogs, especially female. She is fantastic, affectionate, and delightful on her own. I love her very much. I really want her to be happy.

Story
This adorable, spunky, silly girl is heartbroken because she has absolutely zero interest from anyone wanting to adopt her. She has now set the record for the longest dog in our foster program. Pachi has been with us for a year and a half and prior to our rescue she had been in a shelter for several months. Pachi is the cutest little dog with the coolest ears. She is much smaller than she appears in her photos. (Under 30lbs). Pachi is a true gem, and we can't explain how lucky her person will be once they find each other. She's shown incredible growth but needs a home with structure and routine to continue to grow. Pachi finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like chasing a toy or curling up on the couch and loves to share blueberries and bananas for breakfast with her foster mom. Pachi is most comfortable with women but is open to anyone with a soft side. She would do best with an adult-only home, or with older children. Pachi likes to be the center of attention, so no other pets. She is not a fan of felines. Pachi prefers a home with a fenced in yard to run around in. We know that her person/people are out there, but we need your help to find this deserving girl her much deserved forever home. Please share. We would like Pachi to stay within Central PA or if the perfect home is found we would consider someone further away. “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling the emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.” - Thom Jones

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Kobe is a super sweet, energetic dog and the biggest cuddlebug—he loves snuggling with people as much as he loves playtime. He enjoys the company of other dogs, though he can be selective and would do best with a more submissive canine companion. Kobe is not fond of cats, so he would do best in a cat-free home. He needs a securely fenced yard where he can run and have fun. :)) REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another fur friend  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
