Story
This adorable, spunky, silly girl is heartbroken because she has absolutely zero interest from anyone wanting to adopt her. She has now set the record for the longest dog in our foster program. Pachi has been with us for a year and a half and prior to our rescue she had been in a shelter for several months. Pachi is the cutest little dog with the coolest ears. She is much smaller than she appears in her photos. (Under 30lbs). Pachi is a true gem, and we can't explain how lucky her person will be once they find each other. She's shown incredible growth but needs a home with structure and routine to continue to grow. Pachi finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like chasing a toy or curling up on the couch and loves to share blueberries and bananas for breakfast with her foster mom. Pachi is most comfortable with women but is open to anyone with a soft side. She would do best with an adult-only home, or with older children. Pachi likes to be the center of attention, so no other pets. She is not a fan of felines. Pachi prefers a home with a fenced in yard to run around in. We know that her person/people are out there, but we need your help to find this deserving girl her much deserved forever home. Please share. We would like Pachi to stay within Central PA or if the perfect home is found we would consider someone further away. “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling the emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.” - Thom Jones

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! LuLu's mommy's health is declining so she had to surrender her 2 pups and move in with her family.  LuLu and BooBoo have been together their whole lives so we are not going to split them up now.  I mean they already lost their mom!!!  Sooo if you have room in your heart and home for 2 cute fur buddies fill out an application and we will see what LuLu & BooBoo think about you :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! UPDATE:Kobe is a little 3-year old Min-Pin terrier mix that weighs 10 lbs. He has a cute wiry mane around his neck that makes him unique! He’s a spunky little boy that also loves to cuddle. He is house trained but you can always expect some accidents when a dog is adjusting to a new home.  Poor Kobe did not learn any manners in his previous home so he needs some patience. He would benefit from an obedience class or training at home.  Kobe likes to guard his food, toys and person therefore he would probably do best as an only dog or a dog companion that is more submissive. He does enjoy playing with other dogs but don't try to steal his toy! He is currently working on taking treats nicely. He loves food and is tempted to grab it right out of your hand.  The best thing about Kobe is he loves to snuggle beside you, on your lap  or under a blanket.  he will quietly sleep in his crate at night time but I’m sure he would love to snuggle in bed with you too. Kobe is a sweet boy who would love a home with someone to call his own cuddle buddyIntake Day:My daddy died :(  He was 90.  I'm only 3 soooo I am loving that I get to run around A LOT and have furry buddies to play with!!!  There's this field that we all get to run in and play with balls and such and its great fun and there are lots of different humans that come to play with us :)Momma Lynn says I need my family jewels off, not sure what that means but no one sounded to upset about it so I'm thinking I won't miss them.  Michael said its a piece of cake I just take a nap and when I wake up my family jewels are gone.  If you want to meet me fill out an application and we can make a play date!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Let’s help Mila find a “Home for the Holidays” Please share and spread the word ♥ Mila’s story began behind the cold walls of a shelter, where fear had her shutting down and hope felt far away. But just in time, she was pulled into the arms of rescue — and in her foster home, her little light has started to shine again. Today, Mila is flourishing. She loves being part of a family… curling up beside her humans, soaking in belly rubs, and drifting off to sleep knowing she’s finally safe. She’s already house trained, crate trained, and wonderfully quiet — except for the adorable little howls she lets out at mealtime. Her tail, once tucked tightly, now wags with a softness that says she’s learning to trust the world again. She walks beautifully on leash, knows her basic commands, and melts for treats and affection. She adores the teens in her foster home, loves rolling in the grass, and can’t resist snuggling into a warm bed or cozy couch. At just about 35 pounds, she’s a petite girl with a huge heart. She’s still a bit unsure in the car, but she’s trying — and every ride ends with reassurance, love, and usually a tasty reward. She does well with other submissive, laid-back dogs but prefers to enjoy her meals on her own, especially with her puzzle feeder that keeps her happy and calm. Mila is searching for someone who will give her what she has always deserved: steady love, gentle hands, and a forever place to call home. She’s perfect for someone wanting a laid-back, deeply affectionate companion — a dog who simply wants to be treasured, and who will give that love right back tenfold. There’s something extra special about the way she yearns for safety, connection, and home. This holiday season, Mila is waiting in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania… hoping her next car ride is the one that takes her to her forever family. She is part of our “Meet Me Program” which means you can talk to her foster or meet Mila in person before applying. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Mila’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2487924&name=Mila #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme #homeforthepawlidays #promisetoloveyou ##2487924##

Story
Mandy is a total sweetheart — the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. She’s 3 years old, around 29 pounds, and full of charm. She’s got this adorable habit of sitting politely before every meal… though she’ll also bark to remind me if I’m taking too long to get it ready! Mandy loves hanging out with her foster brother, Hudson, and will happily chase toys or balls, but she’s just as content curling up on the couch with her people. She’s housebroken (she’ll bark at the door when she needs to go out) and does great in her crate. She has a nice, easy energy — happy to play, happy to relax — and she’ll melt your heart with her kisses and cuddles. Mandy’s just one of those dogs who makes every day a little bit sweeter.   Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2499669##

Story
My name is Sparky. Very much like a spark, I am a 7-year-old 30-pound compact firecracker, a ball of energy, the light we all need more of in our lives, direct and to the point, enthusiastic, well rounded, happy, and when I crash, I crash until I am reignited. Just call me 'Sparkalicious!'I found myself at this fabulous rescue when my family moved, and they weren't able to take me. Instead of feeling sad for me or upset with them, I experienced love being part of their family and I am ready to pay that forward to my FURever family.I am very smart, and I crave training and routine (if I was a little younger, I would sign up to serve in the military or even enroll at the local community college). We all feel more confident when we are on a routine and know what to expect. I am no different than you or any other K9. Because I have been shuffled around a bit in my 6 years of life, a home with no children would be best because they make quick movements that sometimes scare me.SIT DOWN FOR THIS, no pun intended: I am HOUSE TRAINED, know all the basic manners, love food (Captain Obvious), and am dog friendly. I mean if there was ever a FACE for 'WHOLE PACKAGE' it would be my gorgeous miniature rottie face. Ok, I know I sound egotistical, but I am really motivated to learn. While I can appreciate cats, they aren't a creature I am interested in living with. That is no offense to cats as they are my cousins, but they are small & slick and also make quick manipulative moves that sometimes scare me. I love cuddling on the couch, whether it is a movie or animal planet - as long as we are together, I will be happy. I am active and LOVE walking. After all, movement is medicine.Luckily for me, I am in a foster home and my foster family is teaching me to work through my separation anxiety because after all, we are all a 'work in progress.' I crave a family that is home a lot and rarely would leave me, and would need to be with a family in a house - not an apartment or townhome. I would prefer to have my own fenced in yard too if that's not too much to ask! If you would like to meet or potentially adopt me, please go to our website to learn more about the adoption process: www.crcpa.org I promise that I will be a decision you will LOVE for the rest of our lives. Love always, Sparkalicious...'
