You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!LuLu's mommy's health is declining so she had to surrender her 2 pups and move in with her family.  LuLu and BooBoo have been together their whole lives so we are not going to split them up now.  I mean they already lost their mom!!!  Sooo if you have room in your heart and home for 2 cute fur buddies fill out an application and we will see what LuLu & BooBoo think about you :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 29, 2023, 9:17 pm

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Buddy, the dashing 6-year-old Min Pin with puppy energy and a penchant for prancing like a runway model. This handsome lad, weighing in at a sleek 22 pounds, is your go-to guy for adventures. Buddy has mastered the art of charm with his repertoire of commands - sit, in (crate), and down and is house trained! While he occasionally voices his opinions, he is typical of the Min Pinscher breed. Don't be surprised if he puts on a high jump show; he's practically a canine athlete! His foster parents reveal that Buddy has a soft spot for long walks, and he runs like he's on a mission when he has a yard to zoom around. Despite his fear of thunder, he's a crate-sleeping champ at night and an excellent co-pilot in the car. This social butterfly has mingled with other pets like a pro. He's lived harmoniously with a small female dog and an adult cat, forming tight bonds. However, chickens might not be his cup of tea, and he occasionally gives stray cats a spirited chase. Buddy dreams of a forever home with an active family to call his own. While he's used to sharing the limelight with furry friends, he wouldn't mind soaking up all the attention solo. Ready for a prance-tastic addition to your life? Buddy's your guy!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. December 2, 2023, 8:43 pm

Story
Baby is a precious little girl that is 2 years old, weighs 20 lbs and is a special needs dog.  She was born with what is the equivalent to a hydrocephalus child that cannot control some of her movement functions and needs assistance moving around.  This girl is also 90% blind and has to be helped to get outside and go for a potty break.  We are working on a wheelchair right now and it will give her some freedom and joy to sit upright and perhaps learn how to move her legs to navigate around the backyard.  This girl is very independent but yet being picked up does put her in a fear mode until she knows to trust you and knows you mean her no harm.  She is about 90% blind and challenged with her walking skills and we think a wheelchair could give her some wonderful mobility or steadiness on her feet.  She is a sweet girl that will play with other dogs and is fine around cats as well.  If you have ever wanted to help a handicapped dog then Baby is the one to consider.  We think she is Min Pin mix and was brought to a shelter with her sister at the age of 10 weeks in December of 2021.  This little girl is going on 2 years old now and the original foster mom is keeping the other sister who is impaired with her walking only.  We are seeking a person and family with a depth to handle the blindness and the need to carry her outside right now to go potty.  She loves the company of other dogs and she is much improved when around them.  She does also love to sleep and stay near her work-from-home foster mom. Her mind is sharp but again fearful of those unseen and unknown elements that she might experience.  But in the end Baby will conquer her fears and she will be fine!  If you would like to know more, please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 3, 2023, 12:39 pm

Story
Sweet, funny doxie mix Nicholas is ready for his forever home where he can be the center of attention! He's fine with dogs but not a buddy for one. Enjoys meeting all people, loves his person, being close, cuddling. 5 years, 13 pounds, Nick had a small bout of IVDD, recovered quickly with rest, steroids. His walk is off a bit, but he walks, runs fast, is not hampered in living his little life at all. Nicholas enjoys squeaky toys, will carry them to you for play or squeak them by himself. He's a really wonderful best friend. Fostered near Philadelphia, PA. Adoption fee $275 www.longdogsrescue.org/application

Story
Fontina is being fostered in PA. Hi! My name is Fontina but I think it's a little cheesy, so my friends just call me Tina. I like long walks and just laying out in the sunshine working on my tan. I'm a curvy girl so my foster mom has me on a diet. I'm not too happy about that because I really love my treats. I'm not a girly girl, I hate mani/pedi's and so far I will only get them done if I'm in a deep sleep. My foster mom says that if I'm awake they will probably have to muzzle me. I'm not sure what that means but I don't think I will like that. My absolute favorite thing is to cuddle under the blankets with my people. When I first moved here I would lay right on top of my foster mom so she couldn't leave me. Now I know that she isn't going anywhere so as long as I'm touching her I'm happy. I live with a bunch of foster brothers and sisters and most of them are blind, like me, or deaf. When they bump into me I get mad and grumble but I'm all talk, no action. One time I stepped on my pesky little foster brother and he went after me so I just grumbled and held him down with my paw. He knew I was upset so he left me alone. I really don't like it when those other kids grumble at me. I wish I didn't have any other kids living with me but if they were old and just left me alone it wouldn't be so bad. I love to go places and meet lots of people but I don't really like going in the car unless someone sits with me or I have my bone to chew on. As soon as we get where we are going I am ready to go! I go potty outside like a good girl, I will even tell you that I want to go out but if you don't take me right away I will go on a wee pad. When we go on a walk I will go tinkle lots and lots of times to let everyone know that I was there. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
