Story
This adorable, spunky, silly girl is heartbroken because she has absolutely zero interest from anyone wanting to adopt her. She has now set the record for the longest dog in our foster program. Pachi has been with us for a year and a half and prior to our rescue she had been in a shelter for several months. Pachi is the cutest little dog with the coolest ears. She is much smaller than she appears in her photos. (Under 30lbs). Pachi is a true gem, and we can't explain how lucky her person will be once they find each other. She's shown incredible growth but needs a home with structure and routine to continue to grow. Pachi finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like chasing a toy or curling up on the couch and loves to share blueberries and bananas for breakfast with her foster mom. Pachi is most comfortable with women but is open to anyone with a soft side. She would do best with an adult-only home, or with older children. Pachi likes to be the center of attention, so no other pets. She is not a fan of felines. Pachi prefers a home with a fenced in yard to run around in. We know that her person/people are out there, but we need your help to find this deserving girl her much deserved forever home. Please share. We would like Pachi to stay within Central PA or if the perfect home is found we would consider someone further away. “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling the emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.” - Thom Jones

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Kobe is a super sweet, energetic dog and the biggest cuddlebug—he loves snuggling with people as much as he loves playtime. He enjoys the company of other dogs, though he can be selective and would do best with a more submissive canine companion. Kobe is not fond of cats, so he would do best in a cat-free home. He needs a securely fenced yard where he can run and have fun. :)) REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another fur friend  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
If interested in Jamaica, apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPAR/Dog Jamaica is 4 months old and weighs 15 lbs. She is a sweet and happy girl with a wonderful, easygoing personality. She has a gentle nature and a friendly disposition that makes her a joy to be around. She enjoys playing with other dogs and spending time with people. Jamaica is crate trained, leash trained, and currently working on potty training as she continues to learn the routine in her foster home. She does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with. She has not been tested with cats yet, but because she is still young she may do well with proper introductions. Jamaica is a Sato, which is the name used for Puerto Rican street dogs. Satos are known for being incredibly resilient, loyal, and wonderful family companions. Many come from difficult beginnings but grow into devoted, loving pets. Jamaica is being fostered in Hanover, MD. PLEASE READ: Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt! Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Demi is a great little girl! She is smaller in person than she looks in her photos, she currently weighs around 22 lbs at 6 months old. She would love an active family, she is very people friendly and makes dog friends easily. Demi was introduced to 3 boys today and 4 cats to test how she was with everyone. She got an A++ with everyone. She truly is a gem and is going to make one family so very happy! She absolutely loves the kids, she wasn't overbearing, she gave hugs, rolled over for belly rubs and leaned into the kids for affection. Demi loves to run, she tries to get the other puppies in her playgroup to chase her, mainly because she knows she can out run them. She is agile and smart! Demi would do best in a home where she would have room to run and play, she would make a great little sister to another dog. She may be too much "puppy" for a senior dog. She is a smart girl and responds well to positive reinforcement and is learning to sit for treats. Demi will make a great companion and will give years of loyalty, joy and unconditional love. If you are looking for a well rounded, social puppy with a sweet nature and great temperament, look no further than Demi 💕 We are unsure of the exact breed mix this beautiful girl is. We believe she will be a medium sized dog as an adult in the 40 lb range. She will come current on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. **This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.** Adoption fee is $400 which includes transport. _______________________________ Considering adoption? Story
My name is Sparky, but dont let the name fool youIm a mellow 8-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who believes that the best moments in life are the quiet ones spent snuggled up together. While I might not bounce off the walls like I did when I was a young pup, I do have plenty of love to give and make a fantastic companion for someone looking for a loving, devoted friend. After my family moved and couldnt take me along, I found myself with a wonderful rescue who have shown me what its like to be cherished. Now, Im ready to share that warmth, loyalty, and affection with my forever family.Routine is my happy placeI like to know whats coming next and I thrive with gentle guidance. Quick movements (especially from little ones) can make me nervous due to my past, so Id do best in a home without children. But I get along well with other friendly dogs! In fact, I currently share my foster home with a dog companion, and we get along just fine. As for cats, theyre not really my style, but I wish them well.Couch time and cuddle sessions are absolutely my favoritesIm at my very best when theres someone to lean into, whether were watching movies or just hanging out. Walks are a nice treat too, but Ill never ask you to go on a marathon; I just like a gentle stroll and some fresh air.Im fully house trained, know my basic manners, and always happy to please with a treat. My foster family is helping me work through a bit of separation anxiety, so Id really love a family whos around most of the time, preferably in a house with a fenced yard, where I can feel safe and content. If youre looking for a loving, low-key companion who will adore snuggling by your side and getting cozy with a calm dog sibling, I could be the perfect fit for your family. I promise, youll fall in love with my gentle nature and cuddly ways!Interested in meeting me? Visit www.crcpa.org/adoptable-dogs for more about the adoption process.
