Story
Hiya! My name is POPEYE. Me and my pal MOY are a BONDED PAIR and MUST go to a home together! Here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Poodle mix Age: Approx. 2 years old Gender: Male Weight: 18 lbs (8.2 kg)  Height: 42cm (paws to shoulders), 52 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 58 cm (head to butt) Neck: 29cm Chest: 47cm Current Location:  Mexico City RESCUE STORY - Me and Moy were rescued together two months ago. We used to live on the street with a few homeless alcoholics. It’s believed we taken from somewhere else, as the homeless people didn't have us one day and then showed up with us the next. Unfortunately, we were mostly tied up and had little chances to move. This is probably why I started licking my paws and legs, which were quite red and raw when we were rescued. Me and Moy were kept hungry and dirty. At rescue, we were both dirty and underweight but fortunately, had no serious health issues. Our rescuers have searched for our "original owners" (if we had any) but nobody has come to claim us. SO... now we're hoping and praying that a lovely family in the Pacific North West will want to give us both a loving home together! After all we've been through, we have kinda "trauma bonded" together and are inseparable now. Moy, in particular, gets pretty stressed out when we are separated (video). TEMPERAMENT - I am friendly and very affectionate with people I know and trust (video). When approached by a stranger, I appear quite insecure and uncomfortable. I don't refuse to be touched and haven't shown any reactive or aggressive behaviour in these situations, but it's clear I'm quite uncomfortable (video). I'm looking for hoomans who will advocate for my space and who will go at my pace. Once I warm up, I'm a happy, loving boy - so I promise it's worth the wait to earn my trust! I do anxiously licking my paws and legs, but much less than when we were first rescued. Hopefully in a calm, loving home, I will be able to leave this nervous behaviour behind! I am dog friendly and absolutely need my buddy Moy as my companion; we walk (video), play, eat, cuddle (video, video 2), and sleep next to each other. We have shown that we are essentially each other's "emotional support animal", so our rescuers want us to be adopted together.   We were only recently rescued (Sept. 2025) from pretty unsafe and unstable conditions, where our movements were quite restricted. We are getting used to the new environment of the shelter. When together, we are way more confident. I think the ideal adopter for me and Moy should be aware that we will need some time to get used to a new home, but also expect us to grow into very affectionate, playful furry companions with time! :) ENERGY LEVEL - Low - Both Moy and I are pretty chill, low energy dudes! Once comfortable in our new home, I'm sure we'll come out of our shells a bit, but I don't think we'll ever be crazy energetic boys. GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. Dogs –  Yup! At the shelter, Moy and I live with dogs of all sizes. We get along with everybody. We eat together with other dogs and show no resource guarding. We can be a bit uneasy when meeting doggos when on leash, but you can see here we warm up pretty quickly. Proper introductions on leash (parallel walks etc.) and advocating for our space will be essential to us getting comfortable! Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress! I walk quietly and nicely on leash, but I keep looking at the person walking me, as if I need some sort of encouragement. On the street I'm not bothered fast driving cars or noise (video). I am hoping to find an adopter to help me become more confident and find the joy of going out on walks! Here are some videos of me and Moy walking together on leash (video, video2). A calm, confident owner will be helpful in us learning to walk confidently! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. I am an anxious licker and have some skin irritation as a result. This may be an ongoing issue in my forever home, although we hope that the stability, care, and love provided in a home will help me no longer lick out of anxiety! I am currently being treated for pyoderma (bacterial skin infection) and am expected to fully recover in a few days.  NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.  ADOPTION FEE: My bonded pair adoption fee (with Moy) is $1,456.00 CAD including tax ($1300 + 5% GST and 7% PST), which includes both of our adoption fees, vet costs, and airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2600066##

Story
Hi everyone! I am CALI and here is some info about me! PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Poodle mix  Age: approx. 4 years Gender: Female Weight: 14.5 lbs (6.6 kg) Height (paws to top of head): approx. 40 cm Height (paws to shoulders): approx. 29 cm Length (nose to bum): approx. 56 cm Neck circumference: 30 cm Chest circumference: 42 cm Current Location: Mexico City RESCUE STORY - My rescuers think I was once a family dog, because I'm very affectionate and used to interacting with humans. However, I was found abandoned and had lived as a stray for quite some time. Thanks to sterlization campaigns carried out in the area, some of the volunteers noticed me and got in touch with a local rescuer who took me in. At the time of rescue, I was very dirty, malnourished, and full of fleas, but thankfully I didn't have any serious health issues. I got great care when I was rescued and am now safe and sound at the shelter awaiting my chance to come to my forever home.   TEMPERAMENT - I am a pretty chill gal who enjoys playing at times but is also happy resting quietly on my own. I am sweet and affectionate and eager for a family to give me all the love I deserve. I'm a big fan of cuddles and love to be held like a baby, hehe (video, video 2). I'm brave when I meet new people on my walks and gladly accept pets from them (video). I sleep comfortably in my crate at night, so I think I'd like a cozy den space in my future home. I currently live in a room with 20 other dogs, of all different sizes. I get along well with all of them and haven't shown any signs of resource guarding - I'm a greate roommate! Volunteers regularly take me out for walks and I enjoy spending time at the local dog park. One thing to note is I really don't like when other dogs sniff my close to my face or bum, especially if we've never met before. I don't respond aggressively, as you can see in my video, but I'm just uncomfy and startled with it. I'm hoping to find an adopter who will advocate for my space and help all my doggy interactions to be controlled, positive ones :) Neutral, parallel walks with new dog friends is going to be key to my success. ENERGY LEVEL - Medium/Low. I like to just chill and hang out! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I met a child on my walk and did well! video as with ALL dogs, I should always be supervised around children and I need to have my space respected. It's important to remember I am a rescue pup with minimal training, so I may play nip or bounce/jump up on people (including children!)  Dogs – Yup! I live with lots of other dogs at the shelter, and we peacefully coexist (video). I play sometimes but am not an overly rambunctious girl. More of a neutral playmate who just likes to exist around other doggos.  Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I walk well on a leash (video) and I don't appear afraid of traffic or other loud noises (video). I regularly go on walks with volunteers and enjoy my time outside of the shelter. House trained – Work in progress! Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.  ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD ($650 + 7% PST and 5% GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. Good day to you, Canada. My name is YARA and here is a bit of ihfo about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleSize: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm, intelligent, palyful and social If it is endless loyalty, joy, and gratitude you seek in life, then I am the boy who has neen waiting for you. When rescuers first found me, I was a shadow of the happy pup of today. Abandoned and left in the ruins of a home to fend for myself, I had every reason to give up on people. But I never lost hope. Beneath my worried eyes was a gentle soul, waiting for someone to show me kindness.Rescuers brought me to safety, and for the first time in a long time, I felt warmth, care, and a full belly. I am a little survivor with a big heart. Day by day, my spirit blossomed. That shy, trembling dog of yesterday was slowly transformed into a playful, affectionate companion I am today. Now, I greet everyone with a wagging tail and a heart wide open.I do well with other dogs. My rescuer says I am also good with cats and kids, but there are no videos as proof of this.My name means “small butterfly” — and just like a butterfly, I have emerged from my cocoon of hardship into something beautiful and free. I adore cuddles, love gentle walks, and am happiest when I know I am not alone. Now, all I need is a forever family to continue my journey — someone who will promise me love, safety, and a place to finally call home. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2520336##

Cuckoo Cuckoo. It's CUCKOO time, me. Here is some info about me:Breed: Havanese/Poodle MixAge: 3 yearsGender: maleWeight: 12 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: gentle, friendly, well-behaved, calm, affectionate Rise and shine, it's your friendly neighborhood Cuckoo clock alarm. My early life was spent confined on a rooftop inside a fenced area. I was left alone exposed to the elements whether sun or rain. I survived on leftover food that was occasionally thrown to me. One day, a kind neighbor noticed my situation and tried to talk to the owners, but they showed no concern. They said they planned to sell ne or use me for breeding. The neighbor recorded videos and took photos, which were shared with rescuers. Thanks to all their efforts and insistence, I was purchased from that family and finally sabed from that wretched existence.Since then, I have proven to be a polite, loving, and well-behaved boy with no behavioral issues. I am just waiting for a family to truly love me.I am a gentle and calm pup. It is my desire to be able to snuggle up with you, as I am an affectionate boy.Cuckoo, cuckoo. I can let you know when it is time to go for a walk, when it is time to eat or play... ok well, I can't cuckoo, but I can arf arf. Of course, you will have to teach me to tell time first. You'll find I am a good student though.I would love to have a family to hold me and show me about the big, wide world of Canadian fun.  Time's a ticking. Arf arf, I'm waiting for you. Story
UPDATE: Howdy, I am a very well-mannered guy and I am looking for my forever home! My current caregiver says that I am nearly perfect, apart from a bit of a prey drive but, given that I'm under 20 lbs, I am very manageable on leash. I love to cuddle and to join my human in whatever adventures are happening. If you would like to meet me, please let me know because I would love to meet you! Good day. My name is LUMI and here is some info about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleSize: 8 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm, playful, loving, intelligent, and social Looking for love in all the right places... ok, maybe I got that song a little off, but being a loving and social boy, I am looking for love in the right place, Canada. Lovers of freedom and dogs. I know I will be blessed with the loving home I deserve. My story began in the darkest of times. When war tore through my homeland, I was left behind — frightened, confused, and alone. My soft white fur, once a sign of comfort and love, became a reminder of abandonment, as I wandered through rubble and chaos, searching for safety. Fate  had a different plan in store for me though. Rescuers found me, trembling yet hopeful, and pulled me out of danger. Now, I am safe in a boarding facility, where for the first time in months I sleep on a soft blanket and eat without fear that tomorrow’s meal won’t come.Despite all I have endured, this survivor’s spirit in me is unbroken. I greet everyone with gentle eyes and a wagging tail, my way of saying: “I still believe in love.”I'm playful and intelligent. What else would you expect but smarts, with poodle in me. You'll find me to be pretty calm though too. Maybe nothing can rattle me now, after all I went through not so long ago.I am good with other dogs, as you'll see in the video. Don't worry, my fur is growing back. It had to be buzzed off to get me cleaned up after my ordeal. Oh, I love car rides, sweet times. Though my rescuer states I am good with cats and children, there are no videos of this. I know to go outside to do my business too.I'm just waiting for my forever family — someone who will give me what war stole from me: safety, tenderness, and a place to call home. Could you be the one to write the next chapter of my story? Additional vid: https://youtube.com/shorts/jdn-w3JUNuI. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown. (BONDED WITH SOLSTICE)My name is CEREAL (Xiaoman) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle/Tibetan Terrier mixAge: 5 yrsGender: maleWeight: 15 lbsHeight: 16 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): Affectionate, lively, clingy, curious, obedient I’m a curious and lively little guy! My name 'Xiaoman' is a sweet Chinese term for 'grain buds' in early summerwhich suits my sunny personality.Solstice and I are inseparable survivors, and we are ready to bring double the love to your home! For four long years, Solstice and I navigated the streets together in China, relying only on each other. We were an unwavering team. When our health began to fail (malnourished, matted coats, and Solstice developed a serious eye issue), a local "angel" intervened, and a rescuer saved us.We were treated for severe neglect; Solstice had successful eye surgery, and I had a necessary shave-down to heal my skin. Now, safe and healthy in foster care,my coat is growing back beautifully! We are searching for a family to share our unbreakable bond with.Expect an extremely affectionate and obedient companion who thrives on closeness.Given Solstice and I have been inseparable survivors, this very strong bond can present as minor separation anxiety (sometimes referred to as "velcro" behavior).Happily, this boy takes cues from his humans exceptionally well, and his socialization skills are progressing nicely.Their mutual loyalty is their greatest strength! MUST be adopted together, Solstice and I survived the impossible by sticking together. This deep loyalty makes us adaptable, and we would likely thrive in most any calm, loving home.
