Meet our tiny girl with a big second chance This sweet 2–3 year old miniature doodle mix (just a little over 10 lbs, very petite!) is currently in an amazing board-and-train program, and she is truly proving what happens when a dog is given understanding, structure, and love. She was rescued from the euthanasia list due to some low-level bite strikes — these never broke skin and were more like mouthy, warning-type responses. She does not like being startled or approached without warning, but she is very social, affectionate, and loving once trust is built. We knew this was not an unfixable dog — just one who needed the right environment and guidance. With training, she is learning how to make better decisions and choices, and her progress has been incredible. Her report card says it all . She even did amazing in the car during transport straight to training! Legacy of Love Rescue stepped up and pulled her, and thanks to generous sponsors, her board-and-train has been fully covered. She will be available for adoption in about two weeks, and her adopter will receive a training session to ensure a smooth transition and continued success with everything she has learned. Now we are asking: Is there someone willing to open their heart and home to this beautiful little soul? COURTESY POST: This dog is only available in the Santa Barbara County/western Ventura County area. Pippy is a sweet older gentleman, about 10 years old, wise but also pretty spry! He's 13 lbs. Pippy is great with other dogs big and small, and will even play with rowdy big ones. We don't know how he is with cats. He is friendly but also can be sensitive to certain handling so he is not suited to a home with children. Pippy just likes to hang out, sit on your lap, or go for a leisurely neighborhood stroll. He is good on leash. He's also housebroken, although if another dog has an accident he may follow suit. Pippy needs a dental (in the process of being scheduled) and has a bit of senior arthritis. He's also got cataracts in one eye so his night vision isn't great, but he's fine overall. His hearing is excellent. Pippy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go. He is available from Santa Barbara County Animal Services and is currently in foster care.
