Story
Benedict is a 3-year-old, 18-pound low-rider poodle mix with a sweet and silly personality. He’s snuggly, affectionate, and loves to give kisses. He has a goofy little demeanor that will make you smile, and he enjoys playing fetch, going on walks, and cuddling close. He would thrive as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention he deserves. Benedict's journey hasn’t been easy. He was rescued from a backyard near Bakersfield, where he was living in extremely poor conditions. Confined to a tiny, filthy space, he was severely matted, flea-infested, and suffering from overgrown nails, red skin, and painful sores. Both ears were infected, and a large foxtail was embedded in his eye. After being surrendered by someone suspected to be a breeder, his rescuer drove two hours to bring him to safety. He was shaved to the skin for relief and began his healing journey. Now, Benedict is healthy, happy, and ready for a forever family who will show him the love and care he’s always deserved. More from his foster: “Benedict is a such a good dog. He has not barked once. He is great in public settings. He sat on my lap quietly at the Stonehaus and hasn't barked at other dogs or people. He loves walks. Snifs around and marks his territory. Very playful at home too. Great sleeper. Sleeps from 10pm to 6 am. Then does his business outside. he slept on my bed with no issues. Great finishing his food. The only downside is his little markings inside the house. He is also cautious with new people but warms up quickly. 💕” ------------ Looking to Adopt? Story
Meet Simmba! Simmba is a thriving, loving, loyal, and affectionate boy who truly shines when he’s with his person. Sadly, he was surrendered to us the day after Christmas after spending much of his life confined to a yard where, as the children grew older, he received less and less attention. Since arriving at Shelter Hope, Simmba got a fresh start with a grooming makeover and lots of care. Though the physical and emotional neglect he endured has left its mark, Simmba’s spirit is strong. He can sometimes guard people and may lash out if he feels cornered, so he would do best in a home committed to helping him work through these behaviors with patience, consistency, and plenty of exercise. If you’re ready to give Simmba the loving guidance and active lifestyle he needs, you’ll find in him a devoted companion who will reward you with endless affection and loyalty. ------ Looking to Adopt? Story
Muttey Crew was found roaming the streets of San Fernando with another dog, lost and confused. A caring family came across them during a walk and brought them to safety. With no collar or microchip and no one coming forward despite online posts, Muttey Crew’s past remains unknown. Because he was found shortly after an ICE raid in the area, it’s believed his owner may have been taken. Muttey Crew is a petite poodle mix weighing about 8 pounds. He’s sweet-natured and approachable, enjoying gentle petting and company. Friendly with other dogs, he’s a laid-back buddy who loves attention without being pushy. Now Muttey Crew is looking for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe and cared for. His sweet nature and easygoing personality make him a wonderful addition to any family. —----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Hello friends, I`m Bella, an adorable Maltipoo mix. I`m loveable and playful, but I have a quirky side and can startle easily. Because of this I need a quiet home without children. My adjustment to my new home must be slow and steady. My new friends here at SPARC believe I can adjust and thrive in a new environment, with patience and consistency. Are you the one who can give me this chance at finding a loving home? If you think you can, please come and meet me ~ xo Bella
