Story
My name is Max and I am a very loving, sweet, kind and spunky senior poodle. I have been with my mommy since I was 3 months old and now that my mommy and I are both seniors we each need to be taken care of by extended villages. I recently lost my eyesight, and my mommy can no longer carry me up and down the stairs and everywhere I want to explore, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying life, not one bit. Recently I went to the vet and was told I am a very healthy senior dog with all of my immunizations up to date. I am looking for a forever home to live out the rest of my senior years

Story
ONE YEAR AT SHELTER HOPE, NOT ONE SINGLE INQUIRY Simmba doesn't deserve to spend the rest of his life in a rescue. He might be a "project dog," but he's a boy with a huge heart and so much love to give.  He was surrendered to us the day after Christmas back in 2024. Sadly, his owner kept him outside in their yard where, as the children grew older, he received less and less attention. Simmba is a 3-year-old Poodle mix who loves racing and rolling through the grass and soaking up the sun on his favorite bench. Inside, he keeps his lammy toy close and can't resist showering his person with enthusiastic face kisses. He also adores cuddles, head scratches, and just hanging out by your side. During his time at Shelter Hope, Simmba has shown how deeply he bonds with the people he trusts. He can be protective and sometimes needs help navigating his big feelings (and a touch of teenage stubbornness!), but with those he knows, he is loyal and eager for connection. Simmba also has some skin allergies, so he wears a cone to prevent licking, but it doesn't slow down his spirited, quirky personality. Simmba would do best with a single person who's ready to offer him steady guidance and companionship. Give him that, and you'll have a devoted friend who will fill your days with tenderness, loyalty, and joy! Will you give him that chance? ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Story
Meet Tiny Tim! At just 5 months old and 5 pounds, this beautiful red Poodle is a little bundle of love! He came from a breeder who routinely overbreeds poodles and surrenders them to our rescue when they don’t sell, all to make room for more dogs and maximize profit. Tiny Tim was discarded because he has a grade 6 heart murmur, but thankfully, Shelter Hope welcomed him with open arms. Now he’s ready for a family who will see past his condition and adore him for the sweet, playful puppy he is. Tiny Tim is a happy, adventurous little puppy who loves exploring just about everything around him. But as much as he enjoys sniffing out new places, he’s just as happy curling up in your lap for snuggles, giving soft puppy kisses, and soaking up attention. He’s playful, curious, super affectionate, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Whether he’s chasing a toy or just hanging out by your side, his sweet, loving personality makes him impossible not to love. Now fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Tiny Tim is looking for his forever home! More from his foster: Tiny Tim is very smart! He catches on pretty quickly. We’re working on potty training and he’s doing really good with it but can’t hold it for long so it’s regular trips outside or he’ll go inside. He’s very affectionate, loves to cuddle. He plays hard with my poodle, loves to roll around and play fight! He gets along great with both my dogs. He’ll come when called, knows his name. Very responsive. Very sweet. ------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
This girl is on fire! Meet Leasha Keys (AKA Alicia Keays), the tender terripoo who is ready for her second chance. This 1.5-year-old and 16lb sweetheart came to us as an owner surrender from Taft after her family moved into a home that didn't allow pets. All four of their dogs were surrendered to Shelter Hope. Leasha is a soulful girl who loves quiet moments and gentle pets. Even when she is feeling nervous, she’ll lean in for snuggles and return the love with little small kisses. She does great with other calm dogs. She walks well on a leash and likes car rides! She's a pro at using the doggie door and appears to be housebroken. Her foster tells us that she is such a love, and that they enjoy her every day! Right now, Leasha is being treated for an eye injury that has caused some swelling. She’s safe, comfortable, and getting lots of love in her foster home as she rests and heals. We’ve started her on a new eye drop to help with inflammation, and it’s possible she may need ongoing medication unless the eye is removed. That decision will be made at her 8-week checkup. If you’re looking for a gentle, snuggly best friend, Leasha Keys is your match! She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to be "Fallin'" in love with a forever home! —----- Looking to Adopt? Story
Onee is a 7.5-year-old, 17-lb poodle whose life has been shaped by loss, but her heart is still so full of love. When Onee was just a puppy, her beloved human mom passed away. She was taken in by the daughter, who already had too many dogs and couldn’t properly care for them. Over the years, Onee quietly endured neglect until animal control stepped in. She was surrendered to Shelter Hope so she could have the best chance at finding the loving forever home she deserves. When Onee arrived, she was in rough shape, severely matted, overweight, and filthy. The vet removed two mammary tumors and gave her a full dental and bloodwork. Today, Onee is feeling so much better and showing us who she really is. And who she is? A gentle, playful, and mellow little soul. Onee seems housebroken, enjoys being around kids, loves people-watching, and is perfectly content relaxing in her dog bed, soaking in the calm she’s been missing for so long. Onee has lost so much in her life, but she hasn’t lost her sweetness. She’s ready for a soft place to land, a steady routine, and someone who will love her for the rest of her days. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a quiet, resilient spirit, Onee is waiting for you! ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers.
