Story
We love Willie! He is a cheery, content, easy dog. His jaunty walk, curled tail, and scruffy coat always make us smile and win him lots of compliments when we are out for a walk. He likes to "fish" for leaves floating past him in the canal, sit at our feet while we eat, and trot along beside us as we putter around the yard. He needs little more than to be close to his people and enjoys life indoors. And this is where we have some difficulty, because we are not ready to be an indoor dog family. We discovered Willie at the local shelter 2 years ago. They estimated his age as 3 years, which would make him about 5 right now. The groomer, however, estimates he is closer to 8 or 9. Also, Willie had been adopted out from the shelter previously and returned because he did not get along with that family's other dog. I don't think he would like to live with cats. I think Willie is happy to be a family's one and only dog. He does not like his tail grabbed, so small children could be a problem.

Story
Meet the adorable Muffin! She is a 1/2-year-old, 19 pound, white, Poodle mix. She was found as a stray and was horribly matted. This pretty girl had to be shaved but her coat is growing in nicely. No more neglect for this sweet gal! She will require regular professional grooming. She does enjoy gentle play with smaller dogs but she prefers human companionship over anything else. She would be happiest in a home where someone is with her most of the time. She loves people of all ages. Muffin is very loving and will give kisses. She would love to hang out with you by day and snuggle in your bed at night? She is a very smart girl! She uses her paws in cat like fashion to move items around. She knows how to sit and will try to train you to give her a treat! She seems to be housebroken but may require some reinforcement. She may need leash training. At the sanctuary we use the command "go potty" before taking the dogs outside to do their business. Muffin is happy to comply. This is a good habit to continue at home. She requires a securely fenced yard, as she can jump over a 3-foot fence with ease! She is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. Are you ready for a new love? Muffin is waiting to fill your heart and home with love. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Cody and Molly are a sweet bonded pair who came to us after their mom passed away. They are kind, considerate and gentle little lambs. Cody is 28 lbs (needs to lose some weight!) and Molly is 13 lbs. Cody is 17 years young and Molly is 18 years young. They've been indoor dogs for a long time with little to no outdoor time and they're happy to enjoy the great outdoors, especially when it's sunny! These two really are the sweetest pair of buddies they look forward to spending forever and ever together. Cody came to us with bladder stones, had surgery and is now on a special diet to help prevent this from occurring again. Molly and Cody are a very sweet pair who don't ask for much, just a loving, warm and cozy home where they get to enjoy indoor and outdoor sunshine time together.

Story
&#226&#152&#132&#239&#184&#143We are excited to introduce you to the ever so handsome! Jean-Luc Picard!   Jean-Luc is a 7 year old 14 lb Poodle Maltese Mix that came to us from @mantecaanimalservices   This is what his foster family has to say about this sweet boy   'He loves cuddling and will let you love on him 24/7. He loves food and will scarf up any food that is left alone, so very food motivated. Because he loves food, giving him his medication is very easy. He loves rolling in the grass.   He does not like loud noises or being alone. He is Good with other dogs and wishes to be friends with them all. I have not seen him around cats.   He is great around kids and loves to play and also snuggle with them. He’s very cautious around strangers and will bark if someone walks into a room. This is more of an alarm and then he stops.&#226&#143&#176   Still working on how to walk on a leash, but he is quick to learn and gets better with every walk. He will automatically go into his crate and is pretty good about staying there. He doesn’t use a potty pad, but he will hold it in until he is get out. I will say, “Let’s go potty” and he will follow me outside to go potty.   He loves car rides and will immediately jump in the vehicle and enjoy the ride to wherever. He is such a happy fun loving little dude. He can be shy at first, but once he knows that you’re not a threat, he’s a love bug.   This little dude just wants to do what ever you want to do. You wanna lay on the couch and read a book or maybe take a nap? He’s cool with that. You want to go for a walk, a car ride, dog park? He’s cool with that '   He sounds pretty great right?  We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  November 6, 2024, 3:48 pm
