Story
Ruby and Sugar spent their first years raising puppies — now it’s finally their turn to just be someone’s dogs. Meet Ruby & Sugar — two sweet sisters ready for their forever team Ruby and Sugar are beautiful Mini Goldendoodle sisters, born 04/28/2022, weighing just under 30 lbs, and officially retired from breeding. Now that their puppy-raising days are behind them, they’re ready to start the life they should have always had — being cherished family companions. The girls have lived together their whole lives, but they are not bonded and can absolutely be adopted separately or together — whichever is the best fit for their future families. Both are crate trained and doing well with house training when given regular potty breaks. Like many dogs adjusting to a home routine, they’re still learning how to signal when they need to go outside, so their family will just need to watch for their cues as they settle in. They’re gentle, affectionate girls who do well with other dogs and cats, and would do best with calmer kids or slower introductions. Busy, fast-moving environments can make them a little unsure at first, but with patience and kindness they show their incredibly sweet personalities. Between the two, Ruby is slightly more shy, while Sugar tends to settle a bit quicker — but both girls are loving, soft-natured companions who just want to feel safe and loved. Because they are Goldendoodles, regular professional grooming is required to keep their coats healthy and comfortable. Families should plan for ongoing grooming appointments, as this can be an important (and sometimes costly) part of their care. These sisters are ready to leave their past behind and finally join a forever roster where their only job is being loved.

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60619 ESTIMATED DOB: 2013 WEIGHT: 9.5 lbs KIDS: Older DOGS: Yes CATS: Yes HISTORY: Motor came to us from a local Animal Control facility where he was turned in as a stray. ABOUT: Motor’s foster mom said he is a “pretty regular dog.” Motor is cuddly and loves attention. He is smart and quickly and easily adapts to your schedule. He is very food motivated for any training needs. His foster mom says he sometimes “doesn’t hear you” the first time you ask, but does as asked if you repeat yourself. Motor is good on leash and enjoys going for walks. He also enjoys lounging outside when the weather is nice, but isn’t a fan of very hot weather. He is a little anxious in the car and gives a quiet whine until he gets to the destination. Motor knows both sit and come. He also enjoys stuffed toys (especially if you play with him), but the rope toys with stuffies on the end only collect dust. Motor has been fine with everyone he has met both inside and outside the home, he seems to be pretty easy going with new people and doesn’t get overly excited. He seems to look to his foster mom for guidance on how to act with new people. Motor’s foster mom keeps him gated in one room of the house when no one is home, but even at 13 he has come up with some creative solutions to get under or over it. His foster mom said “I guess you can say he is really not closed off” 🤣 Motor is being fostered with a cat and other dogs and he has done well with both. Motor is not being fostered with children, but his foster thinks he will do fine with kids old enough to be respectful of a senior dog. Motor is housetrained, but like many male dogs he likes to do the occasional recreational peep, but he is agreeable to wearing belly bands to control this. Motor will bark to let you know he needs a potty break. Being a senior fellow, Motor will probably thrive in a home with a reasonable amount of routine and consistency. Are you looking to add an easy going, friendly, “regular” guy to your home? You can find our adoption application on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org. **********Please read bio fully before responding. We appreciate your interest in one of our dogs and it would be very helpful when you respond if you share information about yourself(home/yard, work hours, other pets, kids, dog experience..) Also, we do have an application at sparrowdogs.com that we will need in order to proceed with the adoption. THANK YOU!! Yes, he is one handsome little boy, and he really knows it! Micky is a man about town, a ladies man. Well, he thinks so. He loved the female dogs in his foster home, and they tolerate him, lol. Micky is doing OK with the other male dogs in the home, but we think that he would be happier in a home as the only male. In fact, he was adopted for a short time by a family that had another male dog. Micky was fine with him, but the other male was a senior dog and just was not happy with the new addition, lol. That is OK, we understand, the old guy rules! So, back came Micky, and we are enjoying his presence once again. Micky was guessed to be 5 years old by a previous vet. But, when the adoptive family took him to their vet he thought he may be closer to 2 or 3. We will just say he is 3ish. He is a spunky guy, has a lot of energy and loves to play. We do have him in a belly band right now. Things are new to him and he wanted to mark in the house, the belly band helps with that. We think in a home without other male dogs will curb that need to mark, and we are working on frequent trips outside and reinforcing appropriate behaviors. He will do well with a family that understand that it can take a little patience and continued reinforcement to perfect his indoor training. He is a happy go lucky little guy that will probably be best in an adult household, although he is a happy and outgoing little guy he should be fine with older kids. Micky, like many poodles, has had ear infections and has narrowing of the canal on his left side. That has been treated, but he may be more prone to infections on that side and need treatment in the future. Micky is always happy, always ready for a snuggle and some attention, He would love to find a person or two to hang around with, enjoy some long walks, explore a neighborhood together, perhaps a farmers market, or two! His adoption fee is $350, please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
