If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Chewbacca is a 3 year old male Mini Poodle mix who weighs in at 15 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $550.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Chewbacca is a very happy friendly boy.  He hops like a bunny, so happy! He does well with small dogs like him but he is not happy with dogs bigger than him.  He is working on house training and walking on a leash. He is getting better and better every day.  He loves to run, and his foster thinks he’d be a good brother to another small dog.  Maybe he would warm up to a bigger one?  There are not children in his foster home, Not sure about kids, but when we come up to kids in the park he’s fine.  He will follow you around and will either sit next to you or at your feet, being close. Another great thing about him ~ He doesn’t bark!  Even when the other dog in the home is barking he lays there relaxed and calm.  When he see’s a bigger dog he does bark.  Come to meet him – you are guaranteed to love him.  Chewbacca is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! When she first came to us, Angel had severe dermatitis that caused significant hair loss, but she has healed beautifully and her fur is almost fully grown back. Due to her breed, she will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. Angel came to us with two friends after being abandoned, and while they’ve found homes, she’s still waiting for hers. She is incredibly sweet, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. She’ll even greet you with the cutest little happy dance! Angel is also on the quieter side and enjoys relaxing, especially if it means getting some lap time. Born around March 11, 2025, this sweet boy weighs 10.8 pounds, making him the perfect size for lap snuggles and companionship. Moe came from a hoarding situation where he was one of 29 dogs, so the big world can feel a little overwhelming at first. Because of this, he may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once you approach him calmly and give him a few gentle pets, you can almost see the moment he relaxes—then he quickly becomes your loyal little friend. He gets along great with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. Moe is also very smart and eager to connect with his people. I can help you out by "vacuuming it up" :) I was found SO SO SKINNY and my foster mom told me......don't worry! I will fatten you up:) And SHE HAS!! Here’s what my foster mom says about me: I’m a super sweet, high-energy pup who loves other dogs and even likes kitties (though I might chase them because I really want to play!). I have absolutely no aggression—just lots of love to give. I’m also house trained and crate trained, so I already know how to be a great roommate. I’m the kind of boy who would thrive with an active family—someone who wants a buddy for adventures, playtime, and fun. I’ve got energy to burn and so much love to share!
