Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

Story
Oliver is proof that age is just a number — because this 9-year-old boy still wakes up every day ready to play, have fun, and celebrate life. If you ask Oliver what the best thing in the world is, he won’t even hesitate: TOYS. Every kind of toy. But squeaky toys? Those are the absolute jackpot. The second Oliver spots one, his whole face lights up and he’s instantly ready for the best game ever. Toss it, squeak it, wiggle it — he is all in. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/3H4jpF_LsP4?si=yCM0J8mf3jKFrPdb Oliver could happily spend hours playing if you let him. Tug-of-war is one of his favorite games, and he takes it very seriously (in the most adorable way possible). He loves grabbing onto a toy and showing off his playful side, bouncing around with that happy, excited energy that makes everyone around him smile. And while Oliver may technically be a “senior,” you’d never know it by watching him. He still has the spirit of a playful young dog who just wants to have a good time. He has that wonderful zest for life that makes every day brighter — whether he’s chasing a toy, proudly carrying one around like a prize, or zooming around with pure happiness. Oliver is also an incredibly sweet boy. He loves being around people and sharing his happy personality with everyone he meets. His playful energy is balanced by a loving heart, and he truly enjoys spending time with his humans. He’s the kind of dog who fills a home with laughter, fun, and lots of joyful moments. Because toys are such a big part of Oliver’s world, he would do best in a home with kids who are a little older and able to join in on his enthusiastic play style. He’s just such a toy-loving guy that he gets very excited when playtime starts! One thing that would make Oliver especially happy is a home with a yard. A backyard would be the perfect place for him to run around, stretch his legs, and show off his adorable zoomies while proudly carrying his favorite toy around. You can just imagine him happily bouncing around outside with a squeaky toy in his mouth, living his very best life. Oliver truly is such a special boy. He’s playful, sweet, silly, and full of personality. He has so much love, joy, and fun to bring to a home, and he deserves a family who will appreciate his playful spirit and share lots of toy-filled adventures with him. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep life fun, and remind you every day how exciting the little things can be — Oliver might just be the perfect addition to your family. All he needs now is a forever home, a basket full of toys, and someone to play with. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This playful little guy is NICO, 2 years old and 15 pound and fully grown, will not get any bigger.  NICO was owner surrendered because a new baby entered the home.  He was good with the baby but the family felt they did not have time for NICO any longer. NICO is fully house/crate/potty trained and will go to the door and whine to be let out to potty.  He loves to play with the dogs and having a blast as he was the only dog in his previous home.  He especially loves the girls!!  I do not have any cats so not sure how he would get along with them. Of course he would need to be groomed every 2 months.  NICO is happy and a bit active and excited to have other dogs to play with.  At first he was a bit timid but he came out of that after about 3 days.  He would love to go on walks. The pictures are not the greatest but he is a cutie pie. If you are interested in adopting NICO, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.
