This sweet pup was found as a stray, roaming the streets alongside her pitbull friend who was also rescued. When she was discovered, Camilla was heavily matted. Her rescuer gave her a much-needed haircut, leaving her looking a little uneven for the time being. Despite her rough start, Camilla remains a shining example of resilience and love. Camilla's favorite pastime is patrolling the yard, keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings. She wants to make sure her loved ones are safe! When she's not on duty, you'll often find her cozied up by her foster parent's feet, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. And let us tell you, this girl has the most beautiful soulful eyes. If you're in search of the perfect canine companion, look no further than Camilla. With her sweet nature and loving personality, she's sure to steal your heart in no time. So if you're ready for a lifetime of snuggles and unconditional love, consider opening your heart and home to Camilla. You won't regret it! Camilla has not been introduced to children or cats. Camilla is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 5/17/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.
