Story
Meet Shaggy - an affectionate, friendly, gentle, and playful senior dog! This happy boy is a snuggle bug who enjoys spending his days lounging around, going on nice walks, playing with his favourite toys, and eating frozen food-stuffed Kongs. Despite his cataracts, Shaggy gets around just fine and can jump on couches and beds with minor assistance. He is crate-trained but prefers to spend his time with his people or his foster dog siblings. He even gets along with cats! Shaggy is housebroken, uses a pee pad, and is crate-trained. He already knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake" and can be left free in the house as he doesn't destroy things. He is also very food-motivated and always comes running when he hears the sound of a treat! At 11 years old, Shaggy is an easy-going and low-maintenance senior dog who is just looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years. He has so much love and affection to give and will provide endless snuggles and companionship. If you think you can give Shaggy the loving home he deserves, please submit an adoption application today. Let's find this sweet boy his forever home! Update: Our vet has determined Shaggy has food allergies and is doing great on a prescription diet which has been helping with his skin and fur allergies/sensitivity. He is itching much less. He is currently getting monthly cytopoint shots while his skin is healing. Shaggy also was seen by an eye specialist and it was determined that, although he would be able to undergo anesthesia, he has an additional eye issue that would keep him from having successful cataract procedure. *Please note we currently have two dogs with similar names. Please refer to this dog as Shaggy#2 when filling out your application or emailing to avoid any confusions or delays in processing.* We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event. PLEASE USE THIS LINK TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. WE ONLY ACCEPT ADOPTION APPLICATIONS THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. ANY OTHERS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. Application link here: http://www.oscaranimalrescue.org/oscar-1-application.html Adoption Process: 1.Fill out an application 2.Meet & Greet 3.Adoption contract & adoption fee Shaggy#2's adoption fee is $100. Story
Honey Bunch (aka Bunchy) is a sweet and spirited 2-year-old Goldendoodle with a big heart to match his 81-pound frame. Due to his family’s inability to provide adequate care, Honey Bunch was surrendered to our rescue. He needed a fresh start and some TLC, which he was promptly provided. With a fresh grooming, he’s now looking and feeling like the handsome boy he is (check out his before-and-after photo second on his profile!). Honey Bunch has a lovable personality and is the life of any gathering—he adores people, children, and other dogs, and his affectionate nature shines wherever he goes. True to his name, Honey is as sweet as can be, though he does have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals or cats would be best. This big guy sometimes forgets his size and can be a little jumpy when he’s excited, but with some basic training and consistency, he’ll catch on quickly! This guy is already crate-trained and knows basic commands such as "sit" and "lay down."  He loves pets, especially ear scratches, and has the endearing habit of leaning into you for some extra love. Honey Bunch is playful and enjoys toys, fetch, and car rides. Once he gets some energy out, he walks well on a leash and is always ready for an adventure or even just a cozy evening relaxing by your side. Honey Bunch is NOT low shed, no shed, or hypoallergenic but what he lacks in that department he makes up for with his incredibly soft coat which is perfect for petting. Honey Bunch is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and fixed. His adoption fee is $415. For the family ready to show Honey Bunch true love and compassion, he’ll return it tenfold in cuddles and happy tail wags, so apply to adopt HONEY BUNCH NJ at ehrdogs.org.November 3, 2024, 6:29 pm

Story
You’d never believe Maggey is 12 years old if you met her – this beautiful Poodle girl still has SO much pep in her step and she LOVES to play! You’ll find that Maggey loves people – she will run right up to new people and start making friends. If you're lucky, she might show you just how much she loves you with a lick on the nose, too! Maggey is an easygoing gal and she’s got brains as well as beauty! She’s very treat motivated and loves her snacks - being a good listener makes her easy to train! At only 19 pounds, she is a dream to walk on a leash, too. Maggey is housetrained – she will give a little bark to let you know it’s time to go outside. Not being a fan of the crate, you’ll find that Maggey doesn’t need to be crated when you aren’t home as she’s very well behaved in the house. In her previous home, Maggey lived with dogs and she currently gets along well with her foster sibling. She can occasionally be leash reactive but she is fine with dogs when she’s off her leash. As for cats, she has had no exposure to them. Maggey’s ideal home would be a single family house with a fenced in yard as Maggey loves to investigate and elevators maker her nervous. Maggey is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines - she's move in ready! If you're looking for a beautiful little girl, please check out Maggey! Fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for her by name! The adoption fee for this beauty is only $250! NOTE: We do not believe Maggey is hypoallergenic or low shedding.November 2, 2024, 3:29 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Zuzu, a 20 pound 2-year-old Poodle with lots of love and energy to share! I was found as a stray, but this rescue took me in so now I’m ready to find my forever family. I’ve got a friendly and playful spirit, and whether it’s chasing toys or running around, I’m always up for some fun. Life is one big adventure for me, and I’d love to explore it with you! I’ve got a ton of energy, which means I’m always on the move, sometimes getting a little distracted by all the exciting things around me. But hey, that just makes life more interesting, right? My curious nature keeps me bouncing from one thing to the next, and I’ll make you laugh with my silly, unfocused antics. Oh, the humans at the rescue wanted me to let you know I’m housetrained. Apparently people really like to hear that. So if you’re looking for an energetic, playful pup who’s a little quirky in the cutest way possible, I think we’d be a great match! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
