Meet Brandy! She is a 9 year old, 10 lb Apricot miniature poodle. She and her sister Becky have spent their lives in the care of a breeder. Their working days are now over and they are in a wonderful foster home where they are learning to be pets. Brandy is reserved but not scared. You can see her sweetness in her little face and eyes. She is adjusting well to life in a home and gets along well with everyone. Brandy loves to be outside taking in all the smells and relaxing in the sun. She quickly learned the doggie door and can go in and out when she needs to. This is definitely helping with her house manners. Brandy cuddles with her sister and is starting to enjoy life. She has a soft bed to lay in and lots of love coming her way. She just needs a person or couple that will be patient and help her to adjust to all the new things she will be experiencing. She is learning that riding in the car is not a bad thing and working on walking on a leash. (That might take a bit.) With lots of love and attention Brandy will turn into a loyal and loving companion. Will that be with you. Brandy has been spayed and is current on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped. From Shaggy#2's Foster Mom: SHAGGY # 2 is a happy guy who enjoys the couch, nice walks with plenty of things to sniff, his stuffies and his new favorite; a frozen food stuffed KONG!! He received a complimentary grooming and is looking and feeling his best! He likes to sprawl himself across his foster's lap and get butt scratches and body massages. He is crate trained but much rather be with his people or hanging out in the common areas of the home with his foster siblings. He is good with both cats and dogs. He has cataracts but it doesn't prevent him from getting around. He can jump up on a couch or bed and navigate stairs with minor assistance. He is very food motivated and a A++ snuggler. Additional bonus is he is housebroken and can be trusted to be left free as he doesn't destroy or bother anything. Shaggy#2 gets along with other dogs and does not bother cats. He know how to sit and shake and is housebroken. Shaggy#2 is about 11 years old and 35 pounds. Please help Shaggy#2 find a loving home to live out his golden years. Update: During his vet visit, Shaggy was also found to have some asthma. The vet placed him on over the counter Benadryl which he will need to be on for the rest of his life. Because of this, it is felt he would not be a good candidate to undergo anesthesia for any cataract surgery. *Please note we currently have two dogs with similar names. Please refer to this dog as Shaggy#2 when filling out your application or emailing to avoid any confusions or delays in processing.* We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. DOB 1-28-2024 Sage, sweet and cute, gets along well with the other pups, loves to play and loves toys. Adorable little Pomapoo, very social and adorable. Adoption fee is 700.00, transport fee is 165.00 and is paid to HEARTS, our wonderful transport team. HEARTS leaves every other Friday and delivers to the North East on Saturday. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Meet Andres TX! We've just rescued this cute boy so don't know much about him. As we get to know him we'll update his biography. Andres just had a haircut and he looks like a whole new dog! And he loves dinnertime, too! Andres is 6 years old and weighs only 9 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Andres' foster dad says this boy is cuddly and sweet but vocal at times. He loves other dogs and ignores cats - he would also do fine in a home where he was the only cat. He'd do best in a home with someone who is home a lot and who loves small dogs. He is not complete housetrained but might do best with potty pads. He's a great dog but he can be a big dog in a small dog's body!
