Story
Hello, my name is Felix!! I am a small little guy who was a stray, and every single person I meet absolutely HAS to be my friend! My fur is growing back, as I had to be groomed when I first arrived at HSDC. I was severely matted, but will soon have all my fun curly fur back! If you want a new friend who loves everyone, will show you energetic happiness, and do anything that involves you with him, then come see Felix today!

Story
Louie Poochon is a very sweet dog but is high energy and does not like to be excluded from “the pack” if the grandkids come over. I want to rehome her to due to a recent family loss - I don’t have the heart currently to stay in the leadership role and continue to train her. She needs a master who has the time and focus to continue their care. Louie needs some training - she is strong willed and will listen with treats but without she wants to do her own thing. Her ideal home to me would be in a home without children where she can be the focus of attention. If children are around, she tends to bark and yelp and does not listen to instruction.

Story
Coach is one of two dogs we have that are litter mates. We have too many children in our house and the dogs don’t deal well with the distraction, noise, and chaos. Coach will bark excessively when the kids are around and will not listen to commands. Outside of this issue, he is well behaved. His ideal home is with an older master and one that does not have children. He is a mover and likes to cuddle - provided there are no kids.

Story
🐾 From Tux: Hi, I'm Tux. I know what you're thinking — I'm a pretty handsome guy with a lot of charm! I love going on walks and discovering new smells, and I’m always ready to play gently with my friends. I dream of a home where I can run around and be part of an active family. Treats and cuddles are my favorite, but I promise to be the best companion you could ask for! ❤️ From their foster: I've had Tux for a while now, and I can honestly say he has the most beautiful and fun energy. Every morning starts with his excited tail wagging as we go for walks, and he never misses a chance to enjoy the outdoors. He's such a good listener; if I gently redirect him, he gets it quickly! Tux absolutely loves treats and is great at sharing his affection with everyone he meets. I believe the best home for him would be with an active family who has a yard for him to explore. He's really a sweetheart who brings joy to every day!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dexter If you are looking for a dog with a huge personality, endless entertainment value, and a whole lot of love to give, Dexter may just be your perfect match! Dexter is a playful, energetic little guy who absolutely loves life. Whether he is racing around the backyard doing zoomies, playing with his dog friends, or proudly sneaking a sock out of the laundry basket, he keeps everyone around him laughing. He is smart, curious, and full of quirky charm — including the adorable head tilt he gives when you talk to him like he understands every word. While Dexter has plenty of energy and would thrive in an active home, he also has a sweet snuggly side. At the end of the day, he is happiest curled up with his people, especially if he can burrow under the covers for bedtime cuddles. Dexter would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard or an adopter committed to giving him plenty of exercise through walks, runs, and playtime. He absolutely loves other playful dogs and really enjoys having canine companions to romp around with. He also enjoys people of all ages and has done well with older children. Because he is still learning some manners and can get excited, a home with very young children may need a little extra supervision and continued training. He does well when kept on a schedule and is continuing to learn appropriate toys versus “treasures” he finds around the house. Dexter is eager to please, very smart, and does wonderfully for grooming. With continued structure and basic training, he is going to make an incredible companion. Dexter is looking for a family that will embrace his fun-loving spirit, keep him active, and include him as part of the family. In return, he promises plenty of laughs, endless affection, and a best friend who will keep life exciting. Dexter’s adoption donation is $575. He is fostered in Central Ohio and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm and flea prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  June 30, 2026, 10:33 am
