Story
Edna is a 3 year old Poodle mix. She weighs 22 lbs and a very pretty merle color. Edna gets along with other dogs and loves to cuddle with her foster sister, Callie. Despite all she's been through, Edna is he sweetest dog. She is happy and always wagging her tail. She loves to run around the yard and is good with small kids. Edna is definitely a lap dog and can't get enough attention. Her foster family is working with her on housetraining and her adoptive family will need to continue her training. Her hair and skin are healing, and she looks so good! Edna has been vet checked, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is on heartworm/flea prevention. If you'd like to adopt Edna, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.aplmercer.com. Adoption fee $400 Previous story on Edna: On 03/18/2026 the Mercer County Dog Warden brought us a little dog he picked up as a stray who needed medical treatment. She is missing half of her nose and a good portion of her hair. We don't know what happened to her but she's in rough shape. The vet said something could have bitten her nose off. As for her skin, he said it almost looks like someone poured a chemical on her or she had a severe reaction to fleas that created this. We will probably never know what happened but she is safe now.

Story
Zara is a very sweet family dog. She is well-tempered and lives for togetherness. Zara plays well with other dogs and is very friendly toward strangers. Zara’s previous owners could not keep her because they often traveled and she has separation anxiety. Recently a vet suggested that Zara needs a home where the owner is either retired or working from home and can devote special attention to her desensitization training. Zara gets very anxious when left alone and will often defecate on the floor. She also has not had crate training and damaged her teeth when put in a wire cage. Aside from her anxiety she is a precious dog who equally loves playing and napping. She could be a fantastic pet to the right owners.

Meet Espuma! 🐾 Espuma is a 5-year-old Poodle/Chihuahua mix with the nice blend of charm, personality, and sweetness. This handsome little guy may be a bit shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time and patience, and he’ll quickly show you just how devoted and loving he can be. Once Espuma feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines! He absolutely loves being with his people and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Whether it’s snuggle time on the couch or following you around the house, Espuma just wants to be part of your world. He does have a bit of a dominant streak once he settles in, but he plays very well with dogs he knows and trusts. In fact, when he’s not cuddled up next to you, he loves to snuggle with his tiny foster sister. He’s playful, affectionate, and full of heart.
