Story
Meet Rowdy! After spending his first few years living outdoors, Rowdy, a 3-year-old poodle mix, is finally ready to enjoy the good life indoors—complete with cozy beds, gentle cuddles, and as many belly rubs as he can handle. Rowdy is a laid-back, easygoing little guy who would thrive with a family that’s home often or one that loves bringing their furry friend along for adventures. He’s a sweet little shadow, happiest when he can follow his people from room to room just to stay close. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. Rowdy is housebroken, though he may have an accident if his cues are missed. He experiences separation anxiety and continues to build confidence through crate training. Rowdy currently shares his foster home with two miniature schnauzers and pays little to no attention to the three resident cats. He does well with children 12 and up. He has not been exposed to younger children. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your days with love and cuddles, Rowdy might be the perfect match. Rowdy is fostered by Tiffany in Frankfort, KY. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Yes Gets along with other pets? Unknown Suitable for kids? Story
Meet Larrie, Curlie, & Mo 💕 Yorkie/Poodle mixes, estimated DOB 5/5/25, male, 5-6lbs Larrie, Curlie, & Mo came from a shelter as owner surrenders. These poor pups were so terrified in that environment, everyday their behavior became worse. They were fearing biting, and not easily handled. As soon as we left the shelter with them, the defensive behavior stopped, and their true colors started to shine, sweet, lovable, & playful. These pups will need a patient home to give them time to adjust. They have adjusted very well to their foster home, and are thriving. Our best guess on weight as adults is 10-12lbs These pups are current on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog (Names are under individual pictures)

Story
Come meet me and hundreds of adoptable pets at Cincinnati's mega adoption event, My Furry Valentine! Saturday, February 21st and Sunday February 22nd at Spooky Nook Sports! Meet Horace For the first five years of his life, Horace didn’t know what it meant to be someone’s beloved dog. Born into a puppy mill, he missed out on comfort, security, and simple kindness. But despite everything, Horace’s heart remains gentle and full of quiet hope. Now 5½ years old and 10 lbs, this Miniature Poodle is learning what it feels like to be safe. He is crate trained and finds comfort in having a cozy space of his own. He’s also good with kids, especially those who are kind and respectful—he seems to understand gentleness because he offers it so freely himself. Horace is shy at first, but his sweetness shines in small, beautiful ways: a soft look, a tentative tail wag, a calm presence by your side. He doesn’t ask for much—just patience, routine, and someone who will let him bloom in his own time. Each day brings a new victory for him, and being part of that journey is incredibly special. A secure, fenced yard is required for Horace, as he is not comfortable relying solely on leash walks and needs a safe space to explore and decompress. This sweet boy would do best in a calm, loving home. Another gentle dog could help guide him, but what Horace truly needs is a human who believes in second chances and understands that trust is earned through love. Horace’s past does not define him—his future does. He is ready to give his heart to someone who will never let it be broken again. If you’re looking for a quiet, deeply meaningful bond and a dog who will love you with his whole soul, Horace is waiting. Horace is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person.
