Lil Bit is a 2-4 year old 25ish pound female Aussiedoodle (our best guess). She was on the euthansia list for serving time in quarantine for biting a landscaper who was loading a lawnmower in his truck. The family decided they did not want Lil Bit back.  A foster happened to be at the shelter and coaxed her out of the kennel. It was easy to make friends with her and the foster quickly handled her mouth, teeth, and paws with no issues. Lil Bit takes a moment to warm up to new people and doesn't enjoy quick movements or chaos. For this reason, a home with older children is a must. She seems to warm up to females more easily but will make friends with males as well. Once you earn her trust she wants to be a lap dog! She loves to play with other dogs and respects cats. Lil Bit would thrive in a calm home where not a lot of visitors come and go. She would benefit from some confidence training as well. April 29, 2024, 2:15 am

His clouded vision due to cataracts may hinder his sight, but it can't dampen his zest for life. Found in a state of neglect, he once had to dig through trash for sustenance, but his indomitable spirit remained unbroken. This sweet old gentleman carries the wisdom of age, and his missing teeth are a testament to his life's journey. Despite his hardships, his affectionate nature shines through, making him a source of endless joy and inspiration. With a heart that overflows with gratitude, he yearns for the love and care he so rightly deserves in his golden years. As we welcome him into our family, we are committed to providing him with all the love, comfort, and attention he needs. Our mission is to ensure that his twilight years are filled with warmth, belly rubs, and the happiness he's been longing for. Meet Rio! Mr Rio is a very sweet 12 year old man who loves his naps and loves exploring the backyard. He gets along very well with all size dogs and cats. He would prefer laying on his doggie bed over being held. He answers to his name and loves getting pets and his back scratched. He in non reactive if bumped into or stepped over , he just takes it all in stride and continues on his way. He can see, we are just not sure how well he sees and hears. Story

Tiger is an all brindled boy with a protection dog attitude,but he is great alone. Quiet in the yard and in a home, but with a group of dogs will bark. He loves to please you. He loves to be loved and cuddle. Tiger still needs to have bones and toys to chew on and loves to play. Walks well on leash, is treadmill trained, can sit and lay down. He is an alpha and will dominate without proper leadership. He listens well and loves praise. He loves to run and exercise. I sometimes think he would be best as a only pet. Can consider a home with other pets with the right household. Grew up with a rescue cat and many other dogs of all ages. I like to be present when he is with other dogs. He does well with the senior dogs in my household, but with too many same age dogs, Tiger will take advantage of the party time. He loves to be outside, and with the right temperature he could probably be outside a lot. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
