Story
Lily II is an adorable F1 medium size Goldendoodle. She is 16 months old and 32 lbs. She is very happy, friendly, and playful and is always interested in what’s going on in the house and ready to be part of the action. She loves to cuddle in bed every evening and her excited face and wagging tail will melt your heart when you get home. Lily has been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccines, heartworm, and flea/tick medication. She recently got a full comprehensive exam and is very healthy. She has no history of illness and has never had a major injury. She is house broken, has been through multiple obedience training programs, does not have separation anxiety, does not chew on furniture, and sleeps well in a crate at night. Lily does not live with other dogs but she has been great at daycare and in staying overnight with other dogs, so she could potentially do well living with other dogs in the future. Lily is a moderately active dog who is always up for an adventure but also enjoys a good nap or snuggle. She enjoys playing fetch, wrestling, and zooming in the backyard. She enjoys walks several times a day, whether more active walks or at a leisurely pace while you let her sniff around the neighborhood. For enrichment, she loves puzzles, sticking treats into a wrapped-up towel for her to dig out, or training. She also really enjoys chewing on bully or collagen sticks. Lily would likely do best with access to a backyard, as she frequently asks to go outside throughout the day. She loves exploring, zooming around, sun bathing, and talking to the neighborhood in the backyard. Between walks, Lily likes to nap on her mat and relax. She’s used to having an owner who works from home and may benefit from that arrangement if at all possible, as she’s currently only accustomed to being left home alone for 2-5 hours at a time. Lily is very intelligent and has been able to quickly pick up on many of the skills learned during training sessions. She is making improvements in her ability to “leave it” and come when called. Lily is especially tempted by socks, tissues, small toys, and human food, and is reluctant to give those items up unless you have a high value reward on hand. She is still a young dog and is still learning how to play gently with young children. Given that and her resource guarding, it is strongly recommended that Lily live in a home without children with an owner who is invested in continuing her training in this area. Goldendoodles need a lot of upkeep when it comes to grooming and Lily is great when it comes to being washed and blow dried. She has very significant anxiety and reactivity related to having her nails clipped, paws handled and face trimmed at the vet and will growl. She also has severe anxiety related to being handled or having blood drawn at the vet. Lily’s ideal owner will be very compassionate about her anxiety and be committed to taking additional steps to ensure successful grooming (e.g., using a fear free groomer or sedated grooming, ensuring she is medicated per her vet’s advice). We hope you are interested in learning more about Lily! She is a gorgeous dog and would make a wonderful companion in the right home.
