Story
Meet Cane Male DOB: May 7, 2026 Weight: 5 lbs (current — still growing) Breed: Poodle / Terrier Mix Expected Size: Small breed (small to medium when fully grown) Neutered (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccines: In Progress (puppy vaccines up to age schedule) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Cane is a sweet, cuddly little puppy with a calm and easygoing personality. While many puppies are constantly on the move, Cane has a more relaxed approach to life and enjoys spending time close to his people. He loves affection, enjoys being held, and is happiest when he feels safe, comfortable, and included. At this young age, Cane is still learning about the world around him. He is curious and playful but tends to approach new experiences with a gentle, thoughtful attitude. His loving nature and relaxed temperament make him a wonderful companion for families looking for a puppy with a softer personality. As a Poodle / Terrier mix, Cane is expected to grow into an intelligent, affectionate, and loyal companion. This mix often produces dogs that are eager to learn, highly people-oriented, and adaptable to many different lifestyles. Early socialization, positive reinforcement, and consistent guidance will help him develop into a confident and well-mannered adult dog. Cane would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily playtime, exercise, and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being He is still in the earliest stage of life and will need a family committed to helping him navigate puppyhood with patience, love, and guidance. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like most rescue puppies, Cane may not have had early structure, exposure, or training before entering care. Puppies at this age require supervision, patience, and consistent guidance as they learn basic life skills. Adopters should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, accidents, teething, learning routines, and exploring their environment. These are all part of healthy puppy development. Cane will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Patience, consistency, and supervision Gentle guidance during development Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn routine 3 months to feel fully at home With stability, patience, and love, Cane will grow into a confident and devoted companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, and emotional responsibility. Cane will need: Routine vet visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care (fleas, ticks, parasites) Proper nutrition for healthy growth Daily exercise and enrichment Safe indoor living environment Ongoing training and socialization Because he is very young, consistency and structure are essential for healthy development and confidence building. Cane is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Lifestyle change and increased travel away from home requires that we rehome our Buddy. He loves LOTS of affection and will thrive as the center of attention, ideally for a senior owner with a warm lap and ample pets throughout the day. UTD on shots and has plenty of love to share with the right person. Estimated 12 yrs old. Adopted as a young rescue at ~1 year old. Neutered and house trained. Has lived with other dogs and several cats over the years. He's totally capable of going in and out of a dog door as he needs if one is available. Yes, HE's a boy. He just loves wardrobe changes and ALL the attention that his Wonder Woman outfit generates.

Story
Meet George! This adorable Poodle mix is full of spunk, curiosity, and charm. Whether he's chasing toys, asking for a belly rub, or curling up with one of his stuffies for a well earned nap, George approaches every day with enthusiasm. George is currently participating in our Puppy Socialization Program and loves meeting new buddies! He's also living with three cats in his foster home and working hard on his basic manners and commands. While he's not much of a snuggler, he is kennel trained and settles in nicely when it's time to relax. He is also great when walking on a leash, but he'd much rather spend his time playing at home or in the yard rather than going on a long walk. Ready to add some fun and love to your life? George is waiting to meet you! Please contact our Placement Coordinator, Maggie, at 503-905-5200 to learn more!

Story
***Currently located Downey, CA*** Aloha… my name is Sadie  I’m looking for a person or family who wants a real companion, not just a pet, but a friend. I want to share your quiet moments, your adventures, and everything life brings in between.   Before I was even born, life was already uncertain. My mom, Sassy, was out there on her own, doing her best to survive. Kind people in the community helped feed her, but living on the streets is never easy—especially when you’re carrying eight tiny babies. Five girls… three boys… and one very brave mama trying to keep us all alive. She did everything she could for us. Then, something amazing happened… a kind woman stepped in to make sure my mom stayed safe and fed while she cared for us. And when we were about seven weeks old, another angel helped us find a foster home. Just in time too, because the cold and rain were coming. That’s when everything changed. For the first time, I felt what it was like to be warm… to be safe… to be inside a home. Now I sleep in a cozy place, run around outside playing, and then come back in to rest without worrying about what comes next. I’ve learned how good it feels to be loved. And my favorite thing?I love being held by my Foster Mom and putting my little paws around my foster mom's arm and holding on as tight as I can. I don’t just cuddle… I hold on.  Because deep down, I think I’ve always been waiting for someone to hold onto. I love people, I love playing in the water when the weather is nice. I’m discovering all the simple joys of being a puppy, belly rubs, sniffari adventures, playtime, and just being close to my human. I’ve been to the vet, and I’m healthy, up to date on my vaccines, and even neutered. My foster mom says I’m a very good girl. I’m trying my best to learn everything I can so you will be proud of me. I am crate trainied, love my crate and sleep through the night.  I go outside to go potty.  My mom says I am a fast learner. I’m ready now… ready for my Furever Home. A home where I won’t have to wonder what tomorrow looks like. A home where I can love YOU for the rest of my life. My mom is small (about 14 lbs), and my dad, well, he’s the fluffy white guy in my pictures who looks like a poodle or poodle mix. He's lightly bigger than my mom.  I’m one of the smallest pups of the litter and I am learning to speak up for myself.  I will probably be smaller than my mom.  All I need now… is you. I hope I’m the one you’ve been looking for, because I’ve been waiting for you. If you feel that little tug on your heart, please click the Adopt button and fill out an application so we can meet. I can’t wait to finally be home.
