Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state & Oregon but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal. This sweet boy, how could anyone be so evil & cruel to him? Soul destroying to think of what he has been through & yet he still loves human beings even after everything they have done to him. We cannot even begin to imagine what Kevin witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse, how Kevin ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation he ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Ryze & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Kevin out, his fate was a torturous death. She transferred Kevin to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Kevin & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Kevin & his & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. On top of this wait, we had to wait an extra 9 months to bring these babies. They were supposed to arrive in October last year. Now Kevin is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Kevin was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Kevin was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Oh how this boy has come along way since he arrived from China. This boy is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection. He eats a clean diet meaning raw fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains & supplements. He is now a huge fan of treats since now he knows what they are. He gets very excited for treat time. He loves bulky sticks & collagen sticks to chew on. He had lost all his fur all over & has grown back in & will still become more heathy. We had him moved to a different foster home where he is on the home cooked food & does better on that. We have also tested him in a daycare environment & that is not a good situation for a little guy as he is as he is too mild mannered but adores all the dogs. He also has a very sweet personality on him & will let you know when he wants something. When he arrived he was absolutely putrid, it’s so sad with how stinking filthy he was & so very skinny. He was always good with his baths & loves e dry minute of it & does good being dried with the hairdryer. Kevin is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach him how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Kevin has been taught to walk on a slip lead. But in his loving foster home he goes outside to a fully fenced backyard. He does love to go outside & sit outside & sun himself if his foster mum is with him & stays there but if she is not he will come inside. He is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Kevin adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. He will sit & stare at you to pick him up or put his paws on you to sit on your lap. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Kevin & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He likes laying on you when he is with you or on comfy blankets. Kevin has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. With Kevin we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy. We are also looking for a forever home for Kevin where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit too. Kevin is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Kevin has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs in his loving foster home & enjoys their company but can be the only dog in the home too. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Kevin’s new forever home. Kevin is now roughly 9.8 lbs & is 6 years old & miniture poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male, he had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He had gum surgery & 3 minor molars, 2 intermediate, 1 premolar, 2 canine minor molar’s removed. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Kevin with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, $2200 alone, bringing him through NY into Seattle, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. His dental alone costs more than his adoption fee. Kevin has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Kevin with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Kevin was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Kevin’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Kevin potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Kevin & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Kevin who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Kevin has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through

Story
Sweet Charlotte came into shelter after being abandoned on the streets, she was very fearfully of people and took a while to catch her. She has been used as a breeder and then may have been dumped when out used her usefulness. She is shy till she warms up and knows she will not be abused, timid around other dogs, not aggressive. Once she warms up, she would be a good lap dog, just wants to he loved on. She is crate trained, however would rather be with her person. Seems to be housetrained. She needs a fence at least 5 feet, as she will try and jump, till she settles into her home. Needs leash training, fearful on walks around people and other dogs. Charlotte will be spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, wormed, flea treatment prior to adoption. She will be ready for a new home May 14th. Transport is available to approved home within the Pacific Northwest. Located in southern Idaho if interested email journeyhomerescue@outlook.com ask for Charlotte.

Story
Meet King, the majestic poodle with a heart of gold! King is a people loving pup who thrives on human interaction, though he can be a bit shy at first. Kings charm shines through with his playful energy and affectionate nature. He adores his daily walks and playtime sessions but when its time to unwind he loves nothing more than to snuggle up for some quality cuddle time. Alongside his playful personality, King is a brave soul managing seizures and a heart disease. Thanks to lifelong daily medications and proper care, both conditions are stable and well-managed. King is microchipped, up to date on vaccines and neutered.

Story
* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family. *Please note that adoptions for our adult dogs will occur after their scheduled Spay/Neuter surgeries.
