Story
Spice is a beautiful female purebred Miniature Schnauzer. This Chocolate and white little lady is 3 years old and a such a beauty. She weighs about 12 lbs and came from a breeder who decided she did not need her any longer in her breeding program. Spice is quiet and a bit shy. She takes a minute to get to know people because she was never exposed to many people. Only her owner/breeder. She WILL warm up quickly and will be a wonderful and loyal companion. Spice is learning to walk on a leash. She would love a home with another small dog to play with and a yard to romp and play in. Spice is current on all vetting. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and even had her teeth cleaned! Like many of our rescue dogs we are not sure how well housetrained Spice is. We believe that with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise she should be easy to train. Spice is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Spice's adoption fee is $550 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair ever dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Watson is a handsome black Miniature Schnauzer with stunning blue eyes. He is not yet 2 years old. He is feisty, playful, sweet and loving. Watson came from a breeder though he was never used for breeding and now is neutered. He is shy and takes a little time to warm up but doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Watson is learning to walk on the leash and is so eager to please. He loves to give and receive affection and attention and will sit on your lap all day. Watson should probably live with another dog as it may be traumatic for him not to be with other dogs. Watson weighs 10 lbs. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Watson is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Watson is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Story
Meet Oliver! Oliver is a handsome young man around 1 year old. We believe him to be a Terrier/Schnauzer mix. Oliver is a little smaller than a mini Schnauzer, maybe around 15 pounds. He is pretty much non-shedding. He loves basking in the sun and belly rubs!! He sleeps all night in his crate like a good boy and doesn’t ever cry. He loves his stuffed animals and is food motivated to learn. Oliver will need continued training as he is scared to meet new people at first but with a quick “no” he stops and will warm up and be asking for belly rubs in no time. Oliver would do best in a home with someone willing to put in some time for his continued training. Oliver has recovered from a broken leg and loves to jump and run now. Oliver will need work on leash skills for walking but is a fast learner. Oliver loves to sit outside and people watch. He is also a big fan of his Kong treats! Once Oliver warms up to you, he is a snuggle bug and loves lounging on the couch. This dapper gentlemen is ready for his forever home. Oliver is good with other dogs but we have no info on how he is with cats. He should go to an adult only home. Like all our dogs he is fully vaccinated, neutered, had bloodwork done and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $450. Please fill out an application on our homepage. www.luckydogrescue.org

Story
Hello, I'm Levon. In my golden years, I've learned to appreciate the simpler things in life. I've always been a mellow soul, preferring a gentle pat on the head to any rough play. Sweet and friendly, I love making new friends. Just a note, I'm not a fan of being picked up, but throw a tennis ball for me and we'll be best pals. Adopting me means gaining a companion who'll stand by you, no matter what. Being an older fellow, I do have some minor medical issues that will be discussed when we meet, or feel free to call my good friends at the shelter to learn more about me! My adoption fee is $150 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at Choice Pet Market For more information about me or to schedule a meet and greet appointment, please complete an adoption questionnaire.

Story
Mojo (left) and Shadow are incredibly adorable and fun schnauzers whose papa recently passed away. They are now in a foster home and getting very pampered as they await their new and fabulous family. Mojo is 6 years old and is a spicey little firecracker -- he is on full alert for you to throw a ball and can sometimes catch it on the fly! Shadow is 5 years old and a little more mold, though he also enjoys playing with toys... he takes a little bit of a backseat on the fetching field to his champion brother. Their tug-of-war skills with each other are also top notch and these two can keep themselves occupied with romping around and having fun -- they truly are best friends. These very sweet boys are seeking a home with a very nicely maintained yard ... clean and well-manicured. They would like some grass or turf (the fetching field). Their new home should be safe and loving. Mojo and Shadow enjoy sleeping with their humans, snuggling on the couch (and on laps), playing with toys both in and out of the house, and they appreciate going for walks when weather and ground are cool enough. They are housebroken and also ride nicely in the car. Mojo and Shadow would be fine with children who are at least 12 years old and who are exceptionally kind, respectful, and responsible in nature. They would also be fine with an adult home with people who were interactive with them. Vaccines were just updated, and the boys are microchipped and neutered. We've also had exams and bloodwork done for them and they are healthy. In May, they are each scheduled for a dental so they will have kissing fresh breath as they join their new family. We can set up a meet & greet upon approved application. Please email to request one.

Story
Eeyore was found as a stray roaming the streets of south Phoenix with his friend Tigger. They were frightened, hungry and in need of much needed TLC. Eeyore's coat was so completely matted that It was hard to even tell what breed he was. We quickly scheduled a grooming appointment and our hearts just melted seeing his sweet face and features come to life. We must have shaved about a pound off of him! Eeyore is a Schnauzer who is about two years old and is just as sweet as can be! Tigger is a tiny guy who wears a big smile on his face, and absolutely loves attention! Tigger is a Chihuahua mix who is about two years old as well. Tigger and Eeyore are extremely close. Being that they are young, we think they have never known life apart from one another and we would love for them to be adopted together as a bonded pair. If you are interested in giving Eeyore his first real home, please submit an adoption application through our website at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dog Biography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Crystal, and I am a beautiful white Schnauzer girl who is 13 years old, and I weigh 14 pounds. I was adopted back in Sept. 2016 and had a wonderful home. Unfortunately, my family is longer able to care for me and I am now back with Breeder Release. I hope I can find a quiet, calm home with a sibling my size. I am very sweet, but also very shy. I am dainty, gentle, and love to be petted. I am a quiet girl who loves to lay in doggy beds with the other dogs in my foster home. I recently had a dental, and had all my teeth pulled, but I eat soft food just fine! I will need a fenced in yard because I am not comfortable on a leash. I am very scared in the car, so no long road trips for me. If you have been waiting for a sweet, calm senior girl to love, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Mama Chica Hi Mama Chica is full of pep & loves to run like she’s a puppy. She is FAST, her playstyle is rambunctious & a little mouthy. She loves playing chase with either her humans or another dog - even a larger dog. If there are no toys laying around she will pick up an adult shoe and take off with it, but she has not chewed up anything at home with her foster family. She would probably do best with children over third grade because she jumps very actively for attention and might knock a small child over. She has spent lots of time with an 11 year old boy and does fine as long as the child understands giving her space until she is ready to approach. Mama is not afraid of playing with a large dog & will taunt them to play with her. She is pushy but needs a slow introduction & supervision until the pecking order is established because make no mistake Mama definitely wants to be alpha. She does growl and snap until the other dog realizes who is calling the shots so it’s best if other dogs are non-reactive. Mama does do some resource guarding with food & should be fed separately from other dogs. She gravitated toward foster mama first and it took her about 2 weeks to establish relationship with a senior GS & 18 month old Doberman, both males, and foster dad, but there was also a litter of 5 puppies present for the first three weeks. In the evening Mama does want to curl up on the couch next to a human & warns other dogs off but settles down once she is corrected. A good thing is Mama can be very cuddly, likes to wait on the bed while her human takes a shower. She sleeps peacefully all night in a small kennel at foot of the bed but does not like to be shut in a separate room. Sleeps almost 9 hours at night, also lays in her kennel voluntarily during the day as her “safe space“. At bedtime we say “Go to your kennel. Go to bed“ and she goes straight in with no fuss. Mama is let outside immediately upon waking, potties outside & in urgent times mostly hits the potty pad dead on. Mama eats 2X day about 10 hours apart then immediately goes outside to do her daily business twice a day. Very seldom has an indoor accident. Riding in a car the only place Mama feels safe is between the drivers legs which is dangerous, so it is best if she is kenneled in a car. With regular daily practice, she is perfecting walking on a leash. Sometimes she gets distracted out in the wide, wide world and spins, so a halter is better than a collar when walking. If Mama Chica is the only dog in the home, she will need to be socialized often or she can be possessive of her human. She has a very loud BARK! We say we don’t need a doorbell. we have Mama Chica! Best if her adopter does not live in a home with common walls.
