PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FIRST AND IF INTERESTED SEND AN EMAIL TO SCHNAUZERRESCUE@OUTLOOK.COM FOR AN ADO.PTION APPLICATIONZoey is an 5 yo salt and pepper mini schnauzer who is ready to find her forever family in PA, DE, MD, VA, or DC. This friendly, barky little lady is a playful lapdog. She's obsessed with her stuffed squeaker toys. She loves to curl up with you on the sofa while you binge your TV shows. Evening walks are her favorite time to strut her stuff, but don't be fooled - this particular princess only does her business in the comfort of her own fenced yard!Zoey's ideal home is a single-family home with a secure fenced yard where she can explore and potty in peace. She would do best with an adopter who's home most of the time as she has some separation anxiety. She does do better with a radio or TV left on while you are away. She would do best in a home with no children or older children 12 and up. Zoey is a bit sensitive about her paws and backend being touched, and she has manageable food aggression, which can easily be handled by feeding her in a separate area, crate, or pen when other dogs are around. She gets along with other dogs and does wonderfully with cats!If you are looking for someone to be your shadow who will greet you like you have been gone forever when you come back home, Zoey is your girl! She is up-to-date on her vaccines and was spayed when she came into rescue. Zoey's adopter will be required to take her through obedience training. If you would like to be considered to adopt Zoey, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered.Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm/Lyme tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications from these areas. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. 📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Personality: She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy. • Affinity with -Cats:She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. -Dogs: She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. -Adults/Kids: She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. • Shedding: Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. • Walking Manner: She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. • Housetrained: She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. • Separation Anxiety: She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. • Bark or Howl: She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl • Carsickness: She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Meet Zeke! Zeke came to the Haven from a home where he was a beloved family member. Unfortunately his family could no longer care for him, so he's in the market for a new one. The benefit of adopting a dog like Zeke is that he knows how to behave properly in a home and exactly how much he is entitled to be worshipped. Zeke is housetrained, rides well in the car, and sleeps through the night. He enjoys gentle walks around the neighborhood (10-20min/2-3x a day) and will try to chase squirrels and bark at birds, but walks very nicely on a leash. He has also started trotting like a little pony on walks when he's in a good mood! When he is left alone for a few hours, he usually just settles down for a nap. He should wear a belly band when he's alone, however, as he may want to stage a small protest to your absence. He LOVES cuddles and massages and gets "happy hops" and grunts like a piglet when he wants attention and cuddles but otherwise will settle in the same room as you. (He knows "go lay down"). He likes his licky-mat and treats, which he takes very gently. He has discovered he likes toys! He will do a very light version of "fetch" where you throw his favorite toy about 4ft away and he grabs and shakes it while bringing it back. He absolutely loves any type of affection and touch, massages and cuddles. He enjoys having lots of soft dog beds to choose from at naptime. Zeke has lived successfully with cats and other calm dogs, but he does sometimes engage in resource guarding. So, if he has other animal friends, they need to respect his space. He has done well with older children (we haven't had a chance to observe him around littles). He likes a calm environment and lots of naps, so it might be best to stick to older kids. He does not like being left in a room alone when you're home. When you're home he needs to be where you are or he will bark. (He's currently serving as a furry paralegal and makes a great office dog!) Zeke arrived with some masses, which are being addressed, and a cough from a mild case of collapsing trachea, which is helped by medicine. He has more limited vision at night and may have reduced hearing. He can still see well enough to go up and down the stairs. If you would like a polite, cuddly, well-behaved shadow, come meet Zeke. Zeke is approximately 13 years old and 21 lbs. Fostered in Stony Beach, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org
