K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FIRST AND IF INTERESTED SEND AN EMAIL TO SCHNAUZERRESCUE@OUTLOOK.COM FOR AN ADO.PTION APPLICATIONZoey is an 5 yo salt and pepper mini schnauzer who is ready to find her forever family in PA, DE, MD, VA, or DC. This friendly, barky little lady is a playful lapdog. She's obsessed with her stuffed squeaker toys. She loves to curl up with you on the sofa while you binge your TV shows. Evening walks are her favorite time to strut her stuff, but don't be fooled - this particular princess only does her business in the comfort of her own fenced yard!Zoey's ideal home is a single-family home with a secure fenced yard where she can explore and potty in peace. She would do best with an adopter who's home most of the time as she has some separation anxiety. She does do better with a radio or TV left on while you are away. She would do best in a home with no children or older children 12 and up. Zoey is a bit sensitive about her paws and backend being touched, and she has manageable food aggression, which can easily be handled by feeding her in a separate area, crate, or pen when other dogs are around. She gets along with other dogs and does wonderfully with cats!If you are looking for someone to be your shadow who will greet you like you have been gone forever when you come back home, Zoey is your girl! She is up-to-date on her vaccines and was spayed when she came into rescue. Zoey's adopter will be required to take her through obedience training. If you would like to be considered to adopt Zoey, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered.Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm/Lyme tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications from these areas. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Zoey's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!

Story
Ricky is a Two year old rambunctious Mini Schauzer! He’s a beautiful Liver Pepper with Hazel eyes and a huge personality. He loves praise and all the attention you can give in his true Leo nature! Ricky is good with other dogs Large and small and even our daughter. He is eager to train as well. The only issue that Ricky has is like many Miniature Schnauzers he has an extremely sensitive stomach and can only have a bland diet or low protein sensitive stomach dog food (we use science diet) however Ricky is adamant about eating his other dog siblings food causing him to get sick constantly. We have decided that for his freedom as well as the other’s freedom and his health it is best we rehome Ricky. We’re hoping maybe someone looking for a single friend in their home and time for just him or maybe even another sensitive dog is willing to adopt Ricky and give him a second chance!
