Gump, a sweet 6‑year‑old white Miniature Schnauzer, arrived in truly rough shape and urgently needed help. He has significant food sensitivities — no fowl and no grains of any kind (corn, rice, or meals) — so we transitioned him to a high‑quality fish formula and beef diet. The change has been incredible. His allergy supplements are finally doing their job, and he’s getting the relief he’s needed for far too long. When he came in, Gump desperately needed a haircut, an itch‑relief bath, and hotspot spray. After some much‑needed grooming and care, he’s finally on the mend. You can *see* the difference in him, and we know he feels so much better — his whole little body shows it. He is getting a dental 04/16/26 and accepting applications to those that meet our Minimum Requirements: Live in the Twin Cities Metro area, have a fenced in yard, and he is not home all day alone. Gump is doing wonderfully with our other schnauzers (big dogs are still a question mark). He loves to play, and he absolutely loves to snuggle — especially if you don’t mind a dog who wants to be *on* you or as close as physically possible. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Daisy came to us on 10/4/2025 with her housemate Biscuit, after the death of their owner, and we originally intended to adopt them out as a bonded pair. They were very shy at first, and they spent months at the shelter coming out of their shells before we decided to place them for adoption separately. Daisy is about 4 years old and came in with a long, fluffy coat and, as we didn't want to set her back, we waited until she was less timid before scheduling her vet work and grooming. She eventually had a much needed grooming in April 2026 and did pretty well, and we feel that Daisy may continue to progress if she is adopted without the more confident Biscuit. We think that Daisy could be a schnauzer/poodle mix, and she is now vet checked, spayed, and microchipped, all of which is included in her adoption fee of $150. FENCED YARD REQUIRED. Daisy will require a fairly quiet and very patient ADULT only home. Teens are okay. Her leash skills are not good yet, which is why she requires a fenced yard. It will keep her safe and secure as she gets the basic training she needs. She did live with other small dogs but can be a little afraid of larger dogs. She will need regular grooming, as evidenced by the length of her coat before we had it taken care of. We have no way of knowing how she would do with cats. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
