You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *Bonded to Toto* *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.*   Bonded pair - Toto (black/grey) and Barry (brown) are a senior Odd Couple. Barry is busy, always in the know and including himself in any task or activity.  He LOVES to check in with each pup (foster dog bothers included) and humans in the house, to make sure everyone is AOK.  He leaps from lap to lap to ensure he gets enough "good boy" sessions throughout the day. Toto is chill and hangs back and watches the activities, as his tail is wagging.  Toto does have some vision impairment (cataracts) and Barry buzzes around and helps direct him, when needed.  Once Toto surveys the lay of the land (your home) he gets around just fine. Both are potty trained on a schedule. Toto does need assistance at times, for example the first outside potty - he is carried to the spot, and he also wears a belly band.     Both boys LOVE to go outside.  Barry buzzes around, while Toto takes time to sniff all the sniffs.   Both are happy little guys, Toto's tail almost never stops wagging and Barry is constantly giving everyone smooches.    WALKS? Barry is READY TO GO (he may pull at the leash a bit)!  Toto would rather meander around the yard or ride in a wagon or stroller, or maybe even be carried in a sling.   CAR RIDES? Both do well, dont hear a peep out of them.   CRATES? Barry doesnt care for the kennel and will shred a blanket while in there, we are working on it.  Toto is indifferent. The boys are crated only when their foster humans are not home.   These sweet guys are looking for their forever retirement home, if you think your home and family would be a good fit, please submit an application today!   Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and rec ommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Bear is from a local impound.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
