Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Kenicke is a high energy boy who loves the outdoors and playing with other dogs.  While he certainly needs the opportunity to run and burn off his doggo energy, he also enjoys the opportunity to relax and show you what an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy he really is!  He thrives being around people and will crawl into your lap for snuggles.   Lil Kenicke comes to you fully crate trained where he sleeps at night - although we suspect he’d prefer to curl up with his humans. He is working on his house training and could use help to give him that final push to get him to 100% house broken.  The good news?  He keeps his kennel clean, so we know he can do it! Given his spunky temperament, he would do best in a home where structure and gentle consistent guidance is offered – someone who can remind him that even though he’s certainly adorable, he’s not the boss! He would also do best in a home with children older than 10 years of age. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this ragamuffin of a boy and offer him a loving home.  He can’t wait to meet his person!       Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2510629##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Groovy is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound Schnauzer with a soft heart, a shy spirit, and the sweetest little spark just beginning to shine. As a puppy&#226&#128&#145mill survivor, she’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for — and every day she takes another brave step forward. She’s timid and skittish at first, preferring quiet corners and calm environments, but she’s slowly coming out of her shell. Groovy will now approach her foster for gentle chin scratches, and she sleeps peacefully in her kennel at night. She’s cautious with new people and new situations, but never aggressive — just unsure and taking her time. Groovy loves food (a lot), enjoys her canned&#226&#128&#145and&#226&#128&#145kibble meals, and is potty trained on a schedule. She hasn’t discovered the joy of toys yet, but with patience and encouragement, she may learn to play once she feels fully secure. She gets along with other dogs, especially those similar in size, and would benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to show her the ropes. Because she’s fearful and not leash trained, Groovy will need a securely fenced yard and a patient adopter who understands the needs of mill dogs — slow introductions, gentle handling, predictable routines, and space to decompress. Loud noises and commotion overwhelm her, so a quieter home will help her thrive. Groovy is a work in progress, but she is so worth the journey. She’s sweet, sensitive, and trying her very best to trust the world again. With the right person and a little time, she’ll blossom into a loving, loyal companion who finally gets the peaceful life she deserves. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Dutch is 13 years old and has been a great family dog for us since he was a puppy. He has recently begun having issues on and off with his hips and also with making it outside to go potty. We are almost empty nesters and we both work full time, one outside the home and the other travels often; so we are not able to let him out as often as necessary. Even when we are home, he has started messing in the house if we aren’t watching every moment. We have had him in to the vet to check on both his hips ad the change in potty habits, and they didn’t find anything. Even though it breaks my heart to think about giving him up, he needs more time and attention than we can give with his current needs. We have a kennel and other necessities that we would be happy to provide to make his transition easier.
