Story
Denny is a very sweet Schnauzer/Wheaten mix pup. He’s almost 8 months old and weighs approximately 11 lbs. Denny is a very active and playful guy who loves to run around and also snuggle on your lap.  Denny would do best in a home with another playful, friendly dog. We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. The adoption fee is $500 which will include neuter (has not happened yet), vaccines, microchip and up to date on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

Story
Gene is a 3½-year-old Mini Schnauzer looking for a new home due to our family relocating to another country. He is deeply loved and this is a very difficult decision for us. Gene is a homebody and does well staying home alone. He lets you know when he needs to go outside by going to the door. He is not crate trained because he has always slept with us and likes being close to his humans. He is very affectionate, loves to cuddle, and follows his people around the house. We have two children, ages 9 and 15, whom Gene adores. He is protective and thrives in a calm, familiar environment. Gene does not do well with strangers, especially unfamiliar children, because he was not socialized much outside our family. He would do best with a patient, experienced owner willing to earn his trust. Once comfortable, Gene is loving, loyal, and a wonderful family dog.

Story
Meet Skyler…a sweet girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. She thrives on human companionship and is happiest when she’s by your side, whether that’s cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or joining in on daily adventures. Because she forms strong bonds with her people, she doesn’t do well being left alone for long periods and would do best in a home where someone is around often. She’s also the life of the party in dog groups....a total instigator.. She’s the kind of dog that makes everything more fun…for better or worse. She can easily stir up the energy level during playtime. Skyler is housebroken, and seems good with kids, though she brings her full enthusiasm to greetings. She can be selective about her canine friends, but is perfectly happy as an only dog or with a compatible companion. Skyler is smart, expressive, and endlessly entertaining. Life with Skyler is never boring, and she gives back every bit of love she receives. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Meet Georgie, a resilient and loving companion who's still looking for his forever family due to his foster mom's health issues. Since joining us in September 2025 after being rescued from Babylon, he's shown remarkable spirit, yet he's only received one inquiry. Georgie's past is marked by hardship, living in a car with his owner until they were separated by illness. However, his future is bright! Here's what makes Georgie special: estimated 16 years young, housebroken, energetic, enjoys home-cooked meals, neutered, vaccinated, and loves nothing more than people.
