Story
Hi there! My name is Kate, a sweet 3-year-old Mini Schnauzer weighing just 15 pounds. I was at a puppy mill and was finally surrendered to this amazing rescue organization. I’ve heard people say that I’m such a great girl! Although I might be a little hesitant walking up to meet new people, once I do, you'll see just how friendly and loving I can be. I also wanted to tell you that I have a sister named Ashley who is here at the rescue with me, and she’s looking for her own forever home too. While we don’t need to be adopted together, it would be wonderful if both of us could find loving families who will cherish us. Could you be the special person I've been waiting for? Kate is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

This is a Courtesy Listing and has no affiliation with Petrescue. Please contact the owner listed below directly. Introducing Lorax, the 12 lb schnauzer terrier mix with a fascinating story. Though her paperwork suggests she's 7, her foster believes Lorax is more likely around 4 years old by the way she acts. Lorax is doing amazing with her house training, loves getting cozy at bedtime after a big meal. She lives in harmony with her foster cat. Lorax would thrive in a home with kids over 15 as preferably the only dog (but can co-exist with sibling). She loves her leash walk but at times she may bark at new people and other dogs. Her forever home should be a home with a fenced in yard, no apartments. Lax is looking for an experienced dog owner who will continue with her training. No first time dog owners, please. Lorax's inquisitive and intelligent nature makes her a perfect companion, and take a look at that beautiful mustache! Please email info@waggingtailsdogrescueny.com for more information on Lorax.

Story
** Current Location: South Korea ** With Cats She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. With Dogs She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. With Adults/Kids She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. Shedding Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. Walking Manner She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. Housetrained She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. Separation Anxiety She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. Bark or Howl She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl Carsickness She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. Personality She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy.

Story
Meet Ephaba! This whimsical Schnauzer mix has a flair for the dramatic and a heart full of mischief, the mischief of stealing hearts that is. This spunky, silly girl casts a spell of joy on everyone she meets, especially her canine companions. Preferring the serene life of a quiet town over the Emerald City's dazzle, Ephaba seeks a family who appreciates the quieter, magical moments of life. Aimed at enchanting a crowd that's a bit more mature (over the age of 12, please), she's ready to lead her new pack on off-key adventures and cozy cuddles. Ephaba's tale isn't about defying gravity but about filling your life with laughter, loyalty, and a touch of wicked fun. She may not arrive by broomstick, but she's guaranteed to sweep you off your feet with her boundless love and spirited antics. Elphaba is 3 years old. She is vetted, spayed, and chipped. Our adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. Story
Meet Lucas! Lucas is 5 years old and 32 pounds. We aren't exactly sure what Lucas is mixed with but we think some type of Schnauzer, Terrier, Goldendoodle, whatever he is, he is sure handsome! Lucas loves to be with his person and does great with kids too. Lucas does okay with most other dogs but would probably prefer to be in a only dog home. He can be a bit vocal when left alone at first so he probably should not live in an apartment. Lucas does well in crate after a short vocal dissaproval. He has been through lots of training and knowsa leash well and all of the basic commands. Lucas had recent blood work at the vet. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Basil is approx 3 yrs old and 43 lbs, he looks like a schnauzer/ terrier mix , and maybe some bassett as he is a low rider, but we have no idea of what breeds he has in his DNA He’s overall a good dog, but needs an experienced adopter, he is very timid and shy and takes a while to warm up to new people He gets along with the other rescues and loves to run and play in the yard with them but can be pushy to new dogs that come into his fosters home and will try to nip Until he knows them and we feel he will be better as an only dog or with one buddy his size or bigger and no children He can be hard to put a leash on as he is scared of a leash and could do with some training , he loves to sit in his fosters office while she is working and stays very quietly He will come when you call him and goes inside when told to He seems to be very well house trained and will need a fully fenced in and secure yard , he’s a sweet boy that just needs the right home and loving owner THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS,WE SHIP OUR DOGS WITH MIGHTY MUTTS SHIPPING TO THE NORTH EAST OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only.
