Story
Meet Rocco! This special complicated little guy is about 4 years old, less than 15lbs and some type of floofy terrier/poodle type mix we are guessing. He may bark and put on a tough act when meeting new people, but is lovable and happy once he bonds and loves walks and car rides with his favorite staff. He prefers to dine alone and is looking for a calm adult home with people who will give him his space and let him come over for attention on his terms. He was never socialized with other dogs either and will loudly try to scare them away first before they can scare him. Medically, he's also a complicated little dude. His owners never brought him to a vet, even when he had a severe back injury and was temporarily paralyzed. Luckily with rest he was able to mostly recover on his own from a suspected disc injury, but is still a bit ataxic and wobbly in his hind legs. He does best walking on grass and softer surfaces with traction, and shouldn't be allowed to jump on and off furniture or do stairs as there is more of a change of re-injuring his back. He's had some GI issues on and off as well and was diagnosed with IBD after an endoscopy and GI biopsies: he's doing much better on a strict prescription diet and medications now and is well-managed We know this guy isn't an easy sell... he's not perfect, but the bond that comes with taking the time to get to know and love quirky little dogs like him is extra meaningful. If you can be that special person for Rocco, please submit an application to meet him Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Grey Age: 4yrs 11mths 1wks

Story
Skylar is a young Mini Schnauzer mix, around 2 years old and about 21 lbs of sturdy, playful confidence. She moves through the world without a lot of hesitation - ready to check out whatever’s around the next corner, then come home and snore about it. She’s still settling into foster care, so we’re getting to know her better every day. So far, she’s a happy presence, seems to be house-trained, and takes new experiences in stride. Skylar seems good with kids, though she brings her full enthusiasm to greetings. She’s looking for a home that appreciates a little spark - and is happy to return it with a lot of heart. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Meet Cannoli! Cannoli is under a year old and weighs approximately 18 pounds. He is very tall, long and lanky. He definitely has some Schnauzer in him and we’re not positive what else. He is very high energy and full of puppy curiosity. Cannoli needs a slow approach at first as he came off the streets of Waterbury and is timid and apprehensive. He’s doing really well here at the rescue and doing excellent with his basic training such as sit, stay, going potty outside, etc. He loves to play with the other dogs. Please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home or email pawrescued2016@gmail.com for an application. He is neutered and completely vetted. His adoption fee is $525.
